Famous people who are not as you thought in real life!

Just glancing through the other thread about famous people it got me thinking. We often put rich and famous people up on a pedestal and are quite shocked/dissapointed when in reality they can be just like us or worse.

For some reason a particular Irish International Rugby players name has come up several times not only on here but through conversations with friends.

Is there anybody who you have met or are aware of that are total plonkers in reality?

Met Donncha o'Callaghan on a flight before, he seemed really down to earth.

I've met Ronan O Gara 3 times now, seemed like a proper w*anker everytime. I've met a lot of the rest of the Munster team too, they were all sound.

I presume you are referring to Ronan O'Gara who I have never met, in interviews after matches he seems to come across as a very arrogant guy who is in love with himself.

He could be essentially the Ross O'Carroll Kelly of Cork. I wonder does he drive around Hollyhill or Mayfield in his BMV, shout "Affluence!" and throw 5 euro notes at passers by ??

You don't think Van Morrison is famous

I reckon Van the Man is the most famous person mentioned here so far.

  • A lot of famous people are much worse than ordinary people. Most people wouldn't get away with treating other people like sh*t and making ridiculous demands all the time, but celebrities do. Being famous does weird things to your head (obviously). All the famous people I've met have either been complete w@nkers or really, really nice, no middle ground. I do find that the bigger the celebrity, the sounder the person. It's the C listers and D listers who think their **** doesn't stink who are usually the worst. Obviously there are exceptions.

I worked in the local Dunnes there for a few years and whenever Ronan O'Gara would come in he'd pull his hood up on his jacket/hoodie and if he saw you looking at him, you'd get the absolutely filthiest glare  his dad lectured me in college too and you can see where he gets it from.

I've heard some fairly unflattering stories about him in clubs in Cork too.

From reading of peoples experiences of meeting so-called celebraties, it seems that the z-listers are the biggest assholes.
