some NI and UK Dealers advertise cars that are" vat qualifying"

does that mean u have to be a Dealer in the south to avail of the VAT off

    or what.

I am vat regestered in the south but not in the motor trade.

You can buy those cars less the VAT price which would be 20%. You then put it through your accounts at the end of the year.

I purchased a car this way in the UK before and purchased it less the VAT. The dealer may want to see a VAT return form with your details etc.
