Childcare agencies

I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and have been abroad teaching. I'm home at the moment and while I'm here I'm trying to find some relief work (covering sick/annual leave in creches and other early childhood services). I've tried calling up old contacts, but got nowhere. I sent a lot of CV's to creches and got a few interviews but so far nothing aswell. I'm thinking of joining some emergency childcare agencies, such as lastminuteminders.com. I know it works very well for nurses who are interested in the same sort of work but haven't heard anything about childcare.

Has anyone used these services as an employee or employer and could give me an idea of whats involved?
    Thanks!
