    hey all..

feel free to move this post because i am unsure if i have posted it in the correct place.

my problem is - i am having awful problems connecting my toshiba laptop to my samsung 42inch HD tv :(

I baught a HDMI cable and it transmits the picture but no audio.. i have searched and searched and searched the net to find solution and tried everything and no luck yet.. i even baught an audio cable and ran it from my laptop to tv and nothing :(..
was wondering if anyone could help..

    my program is vista..
i have checked everything eg - made sure it wasnt something silly like the audio was on mute.. checked connections to ensure they were right..
i have gone to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/ Sound then click Manage Audio Devices.
In this window i only found speakers. and from researching on net there should be:

    -Digital Output Device (HDMI)
    -Speakers/Headphones
    -Digital Output Device (SPDIF Out)

any help at all would be great thanks

try this this is the only way i can get sound via hdmi on my HP laptop..

right click on the volume icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar.. and click playback devices and disable all but the HDMI try this firstly after the cable is connected and if it doesn't work then try it before connecting the cable
