Might aswell share this as ive been constantly between 100-93. Only playing 3 months, and got an official handicap of 17, im more like 20 or so but if i can keep shooting high 80s i should be able to play to 17.

Started out stiff as a mofo this morning at 8am on the back 9 and played a brutal first few holes, shot 49, started to come good coming onto the 18th, played really well on the front 9 then with 5 pars 3 bogeys and one double :)

Got new Aldila NV 75 X Flex fitted yesterday and its certainly helped my drives, getting a lovely mid flight now compared to my ballooning fades previously. Hit a good few 280+ yd straight drives so was absolutely delighted

Onwards and upwards hopefully from here

I know it says 43% of fairways hit but it felt more like 80% or 90% as i was only maybe a foot off from the fairway in the semi, no crazy bounces off into the rough which i was delighted with

Any GIR i hit i par'd and was only inches from a few birdies, goal now is to hit GIR :)

Delighted for ya Tones, get a few more putts to drop now and you will be a consistent 80's player.

    Well done Tones.
Above as you have realised is the key, hit more greens. Also find more fairways be it long off the tee or short but its so much easier to play from the fairway. Avoid sucker pins and short siding your self and you will make par or bogey at worse more often. Great to see you progressing so well. Keep it up.

    * I've just re-read my post and it sounds so easy! As we all know its anything but*

Consistency is the name of the game, so hard to put it all together on the day, always one thing letting ya down ha, its all about GIR or very close though and il be v happy

I know the driver might only be worth 13 or so strokes but when you can get off a good drive and a short iron in you're giving urself a better chance than a drive and a hybrid/4 iron. Ive gained about 30 yards on my drives with the new shaft and not slicing/fading so im very happy with that, just gotta keep the ball moving and keep improving, loving my project x iron shafts too by the way :) More practise the better, shanked shots feel horrible

Pretty much yeah, had a few swings of diff shafts, decided on the project x 6.0 + 0.25 inch longer, the driver shaft was a personal choice and so far so good, working very well

Went out with a friend in the evening again and played the back 9 where i shot 49 yesterday morn, shot a 45 and even at that i missed two sitter putts, so hopefully can keep playing consistent up in the high 80s for now :)
