Places to go for a 40th with small kids

My OH's 40th is coming up and I thought it would be nice to go away somewhere in Ireland, make a memory as a present so to speak.

We have 2 very young children, so it would have to be somewhere child friendly. We like cosy places, not too busy, and possibly somewhere scenic (where the kids can have a good run around too). Can't guarantee the weather, so if it's a place good to be in the rain too, that would be great!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Waterford Castle Lodges are very nice...http://www.waterfordcastle.com/holidayhomes/

It's not too busy, you cross to a small island by ferry, takes 3 minutes, you just cross a river really.

The scenery is lovely, deer and rabbit running about. Lodges are really comfortable and child friendly.

As a treat you could take him to Waterford Castle for lunch or dinner. Beaches are close by as well.

    Worth checking out

Thanks boobar. It looks lovely, but it is fully booked around the time I wanted unfortunately. Will keep in mind for another time.
