Would anyone know if this would work on a Vaio laptop where the internal wi fi is not working properly. Has anyone used this brand?

It only supports 802.11n.. so make sure your home wireless router supports the same standards..
Other than that it should work fine!

I would be EXTREEEMLY surprised if it ONLY supported N... all adaptors tend to work backward supports A/B/G aswell as N.

EDIT: it does support the other standards:

PS OP Asus is a reputable tech company so your safe enough.

Should work just fine, one you fully disable the malfunctioning onboard wifi in device manager.

I haven't used an Asus wifi dongle before but they are certainly considered a reputable brand in the PC component market, and this item seems to have fairly positive feedback on newegg, for the price it is. (can't actually buy from there as they are US based, but the feedback section is nearly always worth a read)

Mine is an eircom Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v3

Just to clarify this is to connect to my eircom router not for mobile broadband like 02

Yep, it a wifi dongle not a USB modem, so it will work just fine with that router.

Thanks guys but they do not have it near me.

I got this one. It is up to date and no new drivers available

But my laptop is still experiencing slow download speed intermittently. i had thought it was the vail built in wi fi but this one is the same. i did disable the inbuilt one, someone mentioned that, thanks

I can do a speed test now and get 5mbps and in a few mins it is dowb to 1mbps or less. I am quite certain there is no virus or spyware as have done many checks?

Has anyone any clues as to what else it could be
