    Hi,

Anyone have any thoughts on the nicest hotel to book? We will have a 2 year old with us but he won't need a kids club.

    Thanks.

Ardilaun all the way if you have the money as its more costly.

Galway Bay is in Salthill, Ardilaun requires driving wherever you go.

Also Ardilaun is where Cowen stayed.

    Poll added.

Being a local and familiar with both establishments, I prefer the atmosphere in the Ardilaun, I find its more Galway if you know what I mean.

Depends on age in my opinion, my grandparents love the Ardilaun, I think it's classy too but Galway Bay modern. I'd pick the Ardilaun though...

Why only these two op? Park House in town is very very good and saves on travelling in and out of town.

Definitely the Ardilaun. The leisure centre is very nice too, the jacuzzi is massive!

    The Ardilaun - hands down.

Galway Bay definitely, it's lovely and modern, the food is better quality (in my experience) and Salthill is on its doorstep.

I find the Ardilaun very out of the way and a bit dated.

    ardilaun without the kid:
    - great restaurant
    - lovely spa
    - country house hotel feel in the city
    - taxis everywhere, no other restaurant nearby if you wanted a change

    galway bay with the kid:
    - small kiddy friendly pool
    - on the Salthill seafront for walks or swimming or playing on the beach
    - funfair beside you
    - Leisureland beside you also has huge pool
    - loads of restaurants within 15 mins walk for variety
