    hi all,
as the title suggests, i'm looking for cloths for a vintage themed wedding, it's my sister so i'm expected to make the effort, not sure what vintage entails, i'm told to get braces, tweed, waistcoat, cap, etc. my knowledge of fashion is somewhat limited(one suit that gets out for weddings and interviews) so if anyone knows any shops selling these please let me know. secondhand shops aren't great around here, limerick.
And i can't really buy on line as the wedding is on 10 days time.
    appreciate any suggestions

Why not try something like this?
These guys are wearing jeans but they still look 'dressed up' enough, especially if you wear the suit jacket for the majority of the day & the dicky-bow really makes it.
Surely you have a checked shirt already, maybe all you need to buy or borrow is a mis-matched bow-tie & blazer. Have fun!
    DO wear nice shoes! champagne-and-bbq-sandwich.jpg

hmmm so that's vintage, i'm not sure i'm brave enough to wear that around these parts. i have loads of check shirts alright, not convinced though that they would work with a tie bow, too much going on for my liking.
    thanks for the suggestion

Just think Matt Smith in Doctor Who - "Bow ties are cool"!

"Vintage" is very vague... what era are they trying to evoke?

Roaring 20's? (think Brideshead Revisited / Chicago), the glamour of the 30's/40's (think Hollywood, Fred & Ginger or maybe military), Teddy Boy 50's (Grease), Swinging 60's? (Madmen for formal, hippies for casual), 70's (disco).... etc etc???
