I spent a few days down in Kerry recently and paid a visit to Kilgarvan Motor Museum. It's a small family run museum and has been in operation since 1985. The owner is a very plesant gentleman and even showed me the 1973 Rolls Royce Corniche he restored over a period of four years (the 'before' pics of the car were shocking.....the car was rubbed down and left outside in the elements for a year or so before been rescued?!)

They also carry out repairs and restorations at the museum and even have a few classics for sale at the moment -

1983 BMW 316 (Red/Orange) (needs small work to pass NCT, owned by the family for many years)
    1977 Triumph Dolomite (restoration project)
    1960's Rover P5B (restoration project)

I also paid a visit to a gentleman near Castlemaine who used to operate a small motor museum called 'Shamrock Olden Days' (or something along those lines). He is something of a VW expert/specialist and has several VW's parked around his house, along with other classics...most in need of restoration. He pointed out a few cars he had for sale at the moment..

    - 1960's Renault Gordini saloon c/w original Irish reg
    - 1969 Porsche 911 red swb rhd
    - 1971 Rover P6 blue (71-MH reg)

Worth linking up with Kilgarvan if you use facebook. They post pics regularly of classic outings and of ongoing restoration work they're carrying out. All good stuff.

Just back from a rainy break in Kenmare, dropped into the museum for a ramble. Nice collection, you get the feeling it's a labour of love for the owners.
I pointed out the bubble car to my nephew, his reply? "Does it really blow bubbles?" :D
Ok so it's not beaulieu car museum but it's a nice collection for the motor enthusiast. The kids liked it too, and it's not easy to keep them entertained!
