First Time Gaming Build

Hi,

I'm looking to build a gaming PC in a few weeks. Will probably order the components in 2 weeks time.

Will be primarily used for gaming(Skyrim and BF3), will do some programming,watching films,general usage etc.


So far, I know I'm getting

i5-2500k. Will be OCing
Radeon 6950 x 2
8GB of RAM(GSkill RipJaws-X?)
1000GB Samsung Spinpoint F3
Eyefinity setup, so 3 monitors ranging from 22-24". Need help in which monitors.

Mobo,PSU,Case etc are up in the air, don't know enough about any of them to choose.

I'd like an SSD, between 60 - 96GB, but don't know what make to get.


Budget is, I suppose under €2000, but can go more if needed, but from what I can tell,there's no point

Only thing I don't need is OS,Keyboard and Mouse.

Any help would be appreciated

Is 650W enough or do I need to go higher. Also, I've seen Superflower Amazon recommended a lot so would they be better than the PSU above?

Also,on the RAM, should I go with the 10667 or the 12800, since it's only €4 more, or is the difference too small?

On the Graphics card, is there any difference between Club 3d,Sapphire etc?

The SuperFlower Amazon would be the same quality, but this one is cheaper. 650W is enough for Crossfired 6950s, AMD cards are less power hungry than their NVidia counterparts.

Practically no difference between RAM.

The only difference really is the cooler for the graphics card. Better coolers are able to overclock more and would be quieter.

Just looking at specs, and the Club3d has 2 x miniDisplayPorts and the Sapphire has 1 x DisplayPort. I think I'll go with the Sapphire cos of Eyefinity needing a displayPort connection

Mouse: Roccat Kone(+)

Keyboard: I'll find something

OS:Free

Monitors:?

Any opinions, will that work together? Anything else that I'm missing?

The AX 850 is a very expensive PSU and quite a bit over your needs.
There's lower rated, modular, efficient PSUs for cheaper.

An 850W PSU is only really necessary if you are adding in a third card or plan big/regular upgrades.

Guys on tomshardware forum were saying a 750 was recommended for crossfire 6950s so I went with a 850 incase I upgrade GPUs in a year or two

The 6950 is a lot lighter than you'd think for power consumptions. deconduo's right with the 650W. That's including overclocking. Fair enough down the line, you might pick up more powerful GPUs and need 750W, but going above that you're really hitting the topline GPUs which would be spending the bulk of €1K for the pair.

If you're not ordering before the 23rd, I'd go with the 800W and save the €30 if you're worried.

K,I've switched down to the Corsair AX750. Reviews are saying it's a very quiet psu which is what I want, and it seems to be pretty much top of the line, so might as well get the best I can

Hi, I'm looking at buying the dell u2311h. It's cheapest on komplett, I know they've got better in comparison to last years fiasco, but are they safe to buy from?
