Why does a cage match need an enforcer :S

Seriously doubt it and definitely hope not.

Bret being special enforcer is interesting as he been known to mix it up on WWE house shows these days in that role.

Hope they add a date down here in the basketball arena or national stadium, would love to meet Bret again!

Last show they did up in Tallaght was quite good,I met RVD,Sabu,X-Pac,Kid Kash,Rene Dupree,Scotty and M-Dogg 20 after the show too.

    Particularly in hindsight.

I think RVD had a better match in Tallaght than he has had in TNA.

Is Bret not still under contract with WWE?

Is Bret not still under contract with WWE?

I'd say he only has to do a handful of shows per year for them and is allowed to do whatever else he wants besides TNA obviously.

Is Bret not still under contract with WWE?

He probably gets more gigs from AWR

Not sure, but AWR like doing tours of Ireland and France, so I guess just keep checking their website regularly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Interesting to note that Chris Masters was on the roster between his two WWE stints, so AWR could try to sign him up again.

I'm really wondering too if Derry is the only Irish date? They have said that they were announcing "Irish dates". So I can only assume there are a few more to be announced. The tour seems to be happening in October so I think it's a bit late for promotion and sales if they were to do so. I think it would be a joke if Derry is the only date as technically it's in the UK! , and also it's extremely far away from just about every Irish fan! Can anyone tell me have the AWR tour group announced other Irish dates in previous years this late to the approx tour time?

    From AWR FB
The Sharpshooter tour comes to the Royal Theatre Co Mayo on Oct 7th and the University of Limerick on Oct 8th. These are the final dates of the tour. Bret "Hitman" Hart has agreed to be a special guest enforcer to our steel cage main event. Bret told AWR officials that if anyone wants to interfere in the main event they will have to get past him first !

Shawn Michaels' IPW tour of England is cancelled. Maybe they might get Shawn over here for this tour. It was meant to be the same weekend too.

looking forward to this the tf in castlebar is a great venue, they spent lots of money on that place, if they can get a nice crowd in should be cracking atmosphere that night

i would nt say its strange really since in other parts of ireland they dont have to compete with wwe the next month in the o2. to be honest ireland isnt really big so it wont take too long to tavel. me and 2 friends are gonna make a fun roadtrip to one of these shows. didnt go last time bret hart was over wit them so it will be well worth the trip to meet him.

no dublin dates for this, or for Mick Foley's show.

no dublin dates for this, or for Mick Foley's show.
do they think there's no wrestling fans in Dublin?

As others have said, the Dublin wrestling market is saturated with regular WWE shows in the 02, while in other parts of the country fans are starved. The choice of locations is very clever from a business stand point.

If you or anyone else is so keen on seeing some wrestling in the greater Dublin area, why not pop along to one of the MSW/FFPW/NLW shows coming up?

My friend Karl wrote up his experience in going to the Mayo show; it's a bit long to post here... ah sure why not (pics included on facebook)
    Date: October 7th, 2011
Venue: Royal Theatre & Events Center
Location: Old Westport Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland

This was my first American Wrestling Rampage show. I arrived to the arena at 5.30pm, even thou the doors did'nt open till 7.00pm because of poor bus services we have. This gave me time to have something to eat aswell as to find out about the meet and greet sessions. Doors open at 7.00pm as advertised and i was at the front of the que. I would say there was just less than 300 fans attending this show with a lot of familys and kids all dressed up in there wrestling t-shirts, alot of WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio. No John Cena shirts, "Thanks Be Two God lol". I attended the show with my little nephew, David and my dear Mam. We where a little over dressed in Bret Hart t-shirts but thats apart of the fun.

As we went into the arena the que started for the meet and greet with the master of the worm Scotty Too Hotty, the class act Joe E Legend, the big f'n deal Rhino, and the best there is, was and ever will be Bret Hitman Hart. Everyone rushed to Bret Hart. I got my personal belongings ready that i wanted him to sign. As we approached him i just got weak at the knees, could not speak. Bret said whats happening? I love your t-shirts. He glared and smiled at my mam and told her she look great. I was still lost for words, saying in my head Karl say something ya thick lol. And i just said can we get a photo with you? After weeks of thinking of questions to ask him i just say that? What a knob head i am lol. I think i was just overjoyed to see a Wrestler who was one of my childhood heros.

After we got the picture taken i remembered i made a promise to this kids mother, Sylvia Morrice that i would get her son something signed from the Hitman. Michael Morrice is a little boy who needs a transplant and everyone's support.

    please like his facebook page
    http://www.facebook.com/ref=logo#!/MichaelMorriceTransplantSupport

I somehow overcame what ever was wrong with me and spoke to the Bret Hart about this little boy. Bret signed the copy of his book Hitman and gave me a t-shirt for him and told me to send his best wishes. Looking back today on Bret Hart i seen him to be very tired and or maybe even jet lagged. He has also aged abit more than what i have seen of him on WWE tv of him.

We then turned our attention to Scotty Too Hotty or should i say my mam turn her attention to him. My mam fancied him. There was a girl helping him out, not sure if it was his wife or girlfriend but she was really hot. I spoke with Scotty about his days in WWE and i asked him if he regretted anything? He told me he regreeted not winning the 15 year flashblack battle royal at Raw's 15 Year Special Anniversary show and laughed and smiled. On his table of stuff for sale he had these awesome hats so i bought one for me and my nephew David. Beacause i bought the two hats he did'nt charge me for the signed photo's. Scotty Too Hotty was a great guy, full of beans and a perfect gent. When we got the group photo with him he said this feels like a family photo :) . During transferring the photo's to my laptop i some how lost this photo us with Scotty Too Hotty, blood gutted :(

Next two Scotty Too Hotty was the man beast Rhino and what a character he was. He kept joking with everyone and seemmed to be the life and soul of the party. Next two Rhino was Joe E Legend. I think these guys are best friends in real life because they seemmed to have alot of love for each other and taking the piss with one another. I found Joe E Legend the top guy of the whole roster. He had the most time and concern to spend time with fans and interact with them. He seems to be a wrestler that is also one of us a fan. I am sorry i did'nt buy one of his t-shirts now. I spoke to him about the whole 1PW Shawn Michaels event that was cancelled due to a bad promoter. I was one of the fans going to this show and i still have not got my refund. He was giving advice and told me alot of Wrestler are pissed off about this. We took our seats at 3rd row from ringside, And what a view towards the ring it was. There was these lads sittling beside us and they really made the night for everyone in our area. They had signs that said, WHAT?, 2 "as in 123 refs count", Rhino Gore My Hole lol, among other things.

The first match was Eamon O'Neill vs. Sir Paul Tracey. Eamon O'Neill is an Irish Wrestler from Athlone but was being billed form Castlebar, Co. Mayo. He was also being billed as The Celtic Warrior. Sir Paul Tracey is a British Wrestler, i think? His character is based on the snob gimmick that William Regal did in the WWE. This match was just an opener to rally the crowd and it work. It was more than a comedy match than anything else and had everyone cheering for the good guy Eamon O' Neill. Eamon had a great look for a wrestler, well build pretty boy like todays Alex Riley in WWE. Eamon O' Neill beat Sir Paul Tracey by using John Cena FU aka Attitude Adjustment Finisher.

The Second match was Scotty Too Hotty vs. Delicious Dunky D. Scotty Too Hotty got a good reaction with alot of Worm chants. On his way out two the ring he gave all the fans high fives and we got some two, i thought my Mam would grab him ha ha. Delicious Ducky D was doing the Rick Rude character. He even did the same poses, which was so funny. Delicious Ducky D was holding some Championship. Think it was the worlds or there No Limits, sorry cant remember. The match was alot different than the first as it was a wrestling match. The highlight of the match was Scotty Too Hotty hitting The Worm on Delicious Ducky D. I pop out of my chair for this along with those guys sitting beside me, i even knock my beer on the floor lol "Mark Out Moment" Joe E Legend came out and interfered in the match and also cost Scotty the match. Joe E Legend and Delicious beated down the master of the worm until Rhino came out for the save. Rhino got on the mic and talk trash to Joe E and said he will face him tonight in a Cage match with Bret Hart being the Special Enforcer.

The Third match was featuring two you bloods. Tucker vs. Jordan Devlin. Tucker was annouced as being from the Castlebar and Jordan Devlin was announce as being from Wicklow. I guest these guys are Cruiserweights because there spots in and outside of the ring where great. These guys are new to me on the Indy Wrestling scene here in Ireland so i will have find abit more about them. If you guys are reading, you got a new fan.

The Forth match was featuring a Giant. And when i mean Giant i mean Giant. He looked bigger than the Big Show, Kane, Undertaker in WWE. His name was Tron. Maybe you will see him soon as i have heard he got offered a wwe development deal. I wish The Northern Irish Nghtmare well and really hope i see him on WWE Tv someday. So getting back to the match, this baby was a Tag Team match. Tron & Bonesaw vs. Justin Shape & Phil The Burn. Justin Shape & Phil The Burn are the new Bodydonnas of this moment in time. I would even call them a highlight of the night. Tron & Bonesaw won the match when Tron did a chokeslam.

The next match was the women and there was no toilet breaks for this match. All the male's even myself wanted to see some poontang and American Wrestling Rampage did not disappoint. Kasey Owens with her Twin Leigh Owens vs. Rachelle St Claire. The lads beside me where priceless, shouting for this match. We want puppies lol. It was great two see Rachelle St Claire better know in the Wrestling World as Miss Perfection again. I thought St Claire would go over but Kasey Owens won the match with help form her sister on the outside.

Next and the Main Event was in a Steel Cage Match with Joe E Legend vs. Rhino. The Special Enforcer was Bret The Hitman Hart. The Steel Cage was not lower from the ceiling, it was brought out by all The Wrestler's and Crew and setup in no time. The Special Enforcer came out to a huge ovation and was surrounded by fans as he came to the ring outside of the Cage door. The Hitman looked abit pissed off as he did'nt have any security come with him to the ring. There was a chair just beside ringside set up for Bret and he took on his role of Special Enforcer. Joe E Legend came out first to a mix reaction while i popped lets go Joe. Then the big f'n deal Rhino came out to a big pop and ran into the crowd soaking up all the atmosphere from the fans. The match its self was one of the best main events i have see on any show i have attended and that includes WWE LIVE. Man could these's guys go. At one stage i thought the Cage was going to come down. Both guys put on a wonderful match and in my eyes there was two winners. Bret did'nt do much other than sit in that chair until Delicious Ducky D came down to the ring. Delicious tryed to stop Rhino climbing out of the cage but Bret moved his ass and stopped Delicious from costing Rhino the match. During Bret and Delicious talking trash to each other Scotty Too Hotty came down to the ring and attacked Delicious and both men brawl into the crowd into the backstage area. Rhino and Joe battle on top of the Cage until Rhino suplexed Joe off of it. Rhino then went for the Spear but missed it in the corner. In the meantime Scotty Too Hotty returned to the ring. Joe hit Rhino with some move and went for the Cage door but Scotty Too Hotty hit him with the Cage door as Rhino hit The Gore, Gore Gore and winning by leaving the cage. After the match Joe E Legend got on the mic and told Bret Hart that he blamed him for the loss as he should have stopped Scotty. Bret Hart got into the ring and told Joe E Legend that its not his fault if he is a looser. Bret got the crowd chanting looser, looser, looser. Joe went to hit Bret but Bret hit him first and put him in the Sharpshooter to send the fans home happy. Bret doing the Sharpshooter was the biggest pop of the night.

This was a really great show and i was taken back how good it was. To get an autograph with picture included cost 5 euros, and each Wrestler had T-Shirts two costing 15 euros. I dont think that was a bad price at all. I went home happy and delighted with the stuff i got. One thing for sure if American Wrestling Rampage come back to any location near me ill be there in a heartbeat. Thanks to all the Wrestlers, Crew and those lads beside us for a great night.
Take care and spike your hair Karl - Feel free to ask me any questions, as i might have left something out or got something wrong lol

i attended the castlebar show on friday night, decent enough show, very small crowd has to be said, compared with 2008 when awr got pretty much a full house in the same venue to see sandman, test, masters et al

surprised neither paddy morrow nor joey cabra were wrestling, probably two of the best workers in nlw, morrow was the ref (for every match), brets involvement was very limited, i thought the cage was going to fall in during the final match (as did the likes of cabra and morrow who by the end were holding it together themselves :D) as rhino and legend kept taking bumps into the side of the cage where the door was.

was most interested to see tron wrestle given that he had just returned from wwe development fcw, looks alot like a young paul wight in wcw with the long hair and beard, he got maybe 1 or 2 mins of total in-ring action during the tag team match but he did look better and far more agile during that time than khali ever has
