    Any service people around?

Have the above named dishwasher. When it is turned on it, the pump will start and run for a second, then nothing.

    Any ideas please.

Has all the water drained from the machine? Did you check if the pump is blocked?

Ok. Pump is working and not blocked.
However there seems to be no water getting into it. It still goes through the
Motions minus water. Water at fed pipe. Faulty solenoid maybe?

Stop banning people from After Hours then your dishwasher will act more favourably towards you.

I've a feeling that doesn't affect the dishwasher.
Presuming the inlet pipes at the back are all ok,could be the valve
    Service call job I reckon

is there any lights flashing ? if so which ones

No lights flashing but the salt light is on. Pump is working but no water is coming. Will meter out the solenoid to see if it's working.
