    Hi,

We have sky multi room at home but dont use it enough to justify the €15 a month additional fee.
If I go ahead and cancel the multi room subscription can I
    a) Keep the 2nd sky box (or will Sky want it back)?
    b) I know a number of the UK channels (UTV, BBC etc) are FTA but will I be able to keep RTE, TV3 etc without a viewing card?
    c) Is there a saorview (or equivalent) viewing card I can purchase as a once off (as opposed to paying a subscription)?

    Thanks.
    Dave

    a, Yes
    b. NO
    c, NO

If you power cycle (plug it out ) remove the card and restart you will find out what you will have .

Argos are doing Saorview boxes for €49.99,worth investing in to get Irish tv to complement your FTA on your skybox.

I don't know if this will help you much but we don't have any connections etc in our bedroom and we can get Rte 1, Rte2, Tv3 and Tg4 sometimes just through an old airiel plugged into the back of the TV.:)

There are 2 scenarios in which this is the case :

    1) You're using the current analogue signals which will be switched off soon
    2) The TV is new and MPEG4 compatible

If it's the latter, you're sorted.

But if it's the former, you'll need that Saorview box mentioned above come the end of next year.

    Ah I see...

So say for example I use the analogue from the UPC cable box in the wall, will that not work anymore? Will people have to get digital box's? The reason I ask is that's the way I have 2 rooms belong to the kids rigged up..:)

It depends if your UPC connection is alive. Analogue is still avalable via UPC without any announced end date. Normally a UPC engineer disconnect the cable in the street box if you cancel all upc services.
