i know this documentary on paul galvin was on before christmas last year, but i got to see last night for the 1st time. i enjoyed it actually , it was showed some decent footage from the matches he played in 2010, especially against cork where there were able to show his movement, pace , passing etc. , i was a little surprised that he was over in new york for the munster final against limerick but it showed a another side to galvin in that he seemed a sound guy.

i like the part where he said he didn't bother with reading the newspapers but at the beginning it showed him reading the sundary world article about him being asked to present xpose, and the number of times he went to lillies and krystle :D

I think Paul himself came across ok. He seems like a pretty decent skin. However using an RTE documentary about himself to complain repeatedly about press intrusion came across as hypocritical.

As a piece of television programming it was average at best. And it makes me feel an idiot to be paying a tv license that the best that RTE can put out is repeats of average TV, or celebrity ICA boot camp (sorry that is a little off topic).

I thought he came across very arrogant, somewhat conceited and quite the egomaniac. You're right in terms of him being hypocritical - he courts the media when it suits him and is given to anger when they talk of him in what he perceives to be a poor light. He clearly shouldn't be doing anything remotely related to fashion as well - I'm sure one of the first rules when it comes to clothing is to have them fit properly. Just because you're gone on a certain style doesn't mean you can pull it off. He certainly can't - his body size does not suit the attire he wears. But that's neither here nor there.

Good call on the endless amounts of repeats and dire programs on RTE, TV3 too. It's a disgrace what they throw out at us and try to call it entertainment.
