So the likes of Peyton Manning doesn't count as he's been starting since his rookie year
But if you're a Rams fan Kurt Warner definitely counts

For the Ravens, has to be Trent Dilfer. Brought in as backup, took over mid season as the offense struggled and with the great defense managed, not led the team to Superbowl XXXV
And then got cut after the Superbowl :/

Works with ESPN these days, a good analyst

    Jeff Hostetler.

Came in when Phil Simms got injured and brought the Giants to Superbowl XXV.

49ers are next best by the way. Montana backed up by Steve Young.

There are better examples than Flutie.

Sid Luckman was backed up by Johnny Lujack who could have been a HOFer only for injury & was also backed up by HOFer Bobby Layne. Another HOFer who was a baack-up for the Bears was George Blanda

Warner is the obv choice for the Rams but Marc Bulger wasn't too bad either, just a pity his HC's were awful and he was on a sinking ship.
