24 DAYS TO HOLIDAYS AAHHHHH!!!

    Hi Everyone,

    I'm 27 yr old female, 5ft 3" and about 9 or 9.5 stone. I have only 24 days left until my sun holiday in Portugal and I am trying to blitz my body. For the last month I have been going to gym doing a mix of cardio and resistance training and watching my diet - most of the time.
    My question is - Is fruit really all that bad. Il give an example of my diet -
    Breakfast is Mullerlight yogurt , and small plum and small apple for breakfast.
    Lunch iS Chicken salad with no dressing or sometimes i will have one muller rice original 200g and a chinese noodle quick soup.
    dinner is lean meat and green veg.
    snacks are another couple of pieces of fruit.

    My question is should i cut out the fruit as i know you have sugar spikes from them but i really enjoy them so are they that bad. also, I am trying to keep my carb intake very very low - is muller rice that bad as i really really enjoy them.
    please ask if you have any questions and thanks in advance for the advice.

    Presumably it's printed on the packaging somewhere, but here's what their website says for the Original version (all the others have fruit, and have more carbs in them):

    31.0g of carbohydrate/190g pot, along with the 14.9g in the yogurt, plus the 4 or so small pieces of fruit (could top 50g of carbs handily enough), plus whatever is in the green veg for dinner, and who knows what's in the noodle quick soup, likely all together easily total 150g of carbohydrate, which is not "very very low" by any definition that I've ever seen.
    "very very low" would be well down in double figures, probably under 50g/day.

    I'll leave it to others more knowledgeable/qualified than I to make specific food suggestions, but I'd be suspecting that the "one muller rice original 200g and a chinese noodle quick soup" days aren't doing you any favours.

    Start yourself a free account on http://www.fitday.com and fill in the food diary for a while, that'll very quickly show where stray/excess carbs are coming from.

    Oh, and DON'T be going around hungry either!
    Depending on portion sizes, the rest of your food (minus the rice and the 'quick soup'), looks pretty good, just be sure to eat enough of it.

    thanks for replying Rovi. I suppose when I count it up, it is a lot of carbohydrates. My question now is - should i be looking at the Carbohydrate content on packets or the sugar content on packets if i wish to loose wegith ? please help

    AHHHH CAPS LOCK AHHHHH!

    not too much you can do in 3 weeks, i'd suggest just enjoy this holiday and dont kill yourself tryin to look perfect, instead, plan for next years holiday by eating a real food non processed diet and regular exercise.
