Hi! I'm nearly 18 and female and would like your opinions on my diet. I am trying to lose a few pounds!

Breakfast: 1 boiled egg and a banana.

Dinner: Carrots, mashed potatoes and a piece of meat(usually a lamb chop)

    Tea: A brown bread sandwich(ham, low-fat butter, low-fat mayonnaise)

Generally I don't have a tea and instead during the day may have a scone or 1/2 a slice of lemon cake etc. I do not eat a lot of sweet things.

I try to do an hour of cycling a night, but usually end up doing 4 or 5 days a week of cycling.

Will I lose weight on this diet? But most importantly, is it healthy?

    whats your height mate??

  • You are not eating enough food imo. What "kind" of weight are you looking to lose? I can't imagine you needing to lose a heck of a lot at 9st2

Eat more food that you've prepared yourself, so take the bread out of the diet altogether.

Have a read of this, something I wrote for a friend of mine a few weeks back.

You would do very well to learn about what you are eating, and why, it shouldn't take you too long to grasp the basics, read some of the stickies, and this recent thread has buckets of advice too.

I would advise eating more protein, definitely more fat (fat does not make you fat, eating too much calories makes you fat), and dropping any and all processed foods from your diet.

I wouldnt try to loose any weight at all. You are at the optimum BMI right now, I would try to add some more fruit and veg into your diet but apart from that
