Just Started the Dukan Diet. Anyone else on this?

I just started the Dukan diet today after reading the book at the weekend. I only have 10lbs to lose after being in the States and eating crap for a few weeks! I'm not usually one for the fad diets, I have tried WW before but thats it.Overall Im usually a pretty healthy eater but this Summer ive overdone it a bit! This diet sounded like a decent one to me and I said Id give it a try. So far so good. Im on phase one - the attack phase in which you can only eat lean meat (+ onions and oat bran) and non fat dairy (plus you have to drink at least 1.5 ltrs water per day). My meal plans for today are...

Breakfast: 1 egg Scrambled with Chopped Onions & Smoked Salmon
Lunch: 1 Grilled Chicken Breast flavoured with paprika & lemon & 1 Bowl Fat Free Vanilla Yoghurt
Dinner: Round Steak & 1 Egg
    Snacks: Roast Turkey/ pickled Onions
Drinks: 2 coffees with non-fat milk, 2 green teas and 1.5 ltrs water

I have to say so far so good. Im not hungry - although my danger time is the evening so will have to wait and see. I thought I would find today hellish as i am usually SO reliant on carbs to fill me and Im not usually a big red meat-eater but it has been surprisingly painless. For me the key is being super organised and planning everything the night before. As I only have 10lbs to lose, Im only on this attack phase for 2 days. Anyone else on the plan at the moment? Any tips/ experiences to share??

I bought the book and had a read and then decided it wasn't for me. Personally I don't think that any severe diet involving cutting out whole food groups can work well, the book smacked of the kind of diet where you lose a lot of weight fast and put twice as much back on just as easily. Maybe it will work ok for you as you only have 10lb to lose - I have a lot more and therefore decided that for the length of time that it's going to take me to shift it, it's not a practical diet to be sticking to - but let me know how it goes, best of luck. Please just be wary of messing up your metabolism, I've done that so much and it's hard to get it right again!

I would highly recommend this diet, It worked for me anyhow, I liked the fact that you could eat as much as you wanted to , none of this counting calories or points lark .. keep going and you will see results I lost 8 lbs on it and have maintained to keep that off months later .. I'm no longer on the diet now but I have incorporated a lot things from the diet into my regular eating habits like drinking plenty of water, still taking the oat bran , one day of protein for life, and just generally watching what I'm eating and the portion sizes also .. don't worry if you have a slip every now and again .. you can't be perfect all the time .. What ever works for you .. Best of luck :)
