my missus has just started running with me but she keeps getting a stitch in the first 5 mins that leaves her bent over in pain. She is not running too fast and is under no strain as she runs???? Any advice would be appreciated

Could be completely wrong here but the only time I seem to get a stitch is when I eat to close to going out.

Usually for me my breathing is the problem. I find that shallow/rapid breathing can cause a stitch which lasts until I get my breathing under control again. I say try to focus on slowing the breathing down, breath from the belly not the chest - this is harder than it sounds!

Similarly when a stitch comes deep breaths and full exhales can allows me through them until they pass.

Leave the iPod at home and see if the breathing is right.
