    Hi all,

No marathons for me this autumn due to ongoing lingering niggles so looking for established 10k events over the coming months.

I know that every town/village/parish/GAA Club are jumping on the running bandwagon and holding their inaugural charity fun run but I've done a couple of these already this year and have seen various course distance, marshalling problems etc. so looking for better value for money purely from a running perspective.

Can anyway recommend an established 10k taking place from September onwards? Willing to travel anywhere and would consider UK options if they're anywhere remotely near an airport :)

    cheers cm

Loughrea AC 10k 25th September next -club organised, long history of organising top class fields. rolling course, but the standard of runners will bring anyone on, won by gary thornton in 30.01 last year

    well worth a shot

Type in Ireland and choose 10k and you'll get anything between now and the end of the year.

    Leeds Abbey Dash - November
    Horsforth 10k - Sept

For the UK races check out the events section on the Runners world UK website. I've heard good things about the Cardiff 10k, pity ryanair chopped the flights but Aer lingus fly there. You can be sure it would be better than most irish 10k races.

There is a 10K on in Waterford City on 11th September, at 12pm from the RSC. It gets a decent crowd of about 1,000 runners. Nice enough course, with just a couple of drags.

There is usually another 10K in Dungarvan, at the end of September, but I can't find any info online for it. Maybe someone else might know?
