Child seat issues - Nissan

    Hi,

We have a spare child seat (fits with seat belts, non-isofix) which we gave to grandparents, who drive 2 nissans (02 Almera & 07 Primera). Having real problems fitting it

The issue appears to be the seat belt clasp. Instead of lying flush (or nearly flush) with the seat and being relatively rigid, it is on the end of a piece of the seat belt strap. This means that with all the child seats we've tried, the seat moves around as a result of the bit of strap.

anyone encountered the same problem with nissans?

    Cheers

I had a similar problem, I brought it to Halfords and they fitted it properly (I lied and said it was bought there!). Some cars have slightly different shaped or sized straps and buckles on the seatbelts which means the child seat is fitted a little differently to the way the instructions tell you.

Also I was told at my antenatal class that some car seats just don't work in certain cars, so that's a possibility too. :(

The Almera and Primera may not have ISOFIX fitting seats as it wasn't standard on cars back when these models were launched.

If you're in Dublin bring it to Tony kealy's. I think they'll fit car seats even if you didn't buy it there.
