I strongly recommend Multitrip http://www.multitrip.com/ - from shopping around, they seem to be the cheapest. They lump countries into:
    • Europe
    • Worldwide excl. USA/Canada
    • Worldwide incl. USA/Canada
I'm on my second year of getting 90 day cover for worldwide excl. USA/Canada (I'm in the Middle East, so they put me in the same boat as you) and they've been brilliant. Went to the hospital last year, and so long as you call them immediately (as in, immediately after you're discharged) there are no problems with compensating you.

I use VHI multi trip, it's €49 for year, covers every thing up to thermo-nuclear war, but then again I never had to try and make a claim. I guess they are all the same really.
