Looking for a little help on two fronts. I have a 02 Santa Fe which runs fine with 145k miles.

It needs some work an ABS ring is gone and it costs about 30 quid,4 new tyres 400 quid, the drivers seat belt needs to be replaced(scrap yard job 60quid). Its out of NCT and Tax too.

I'm looking to sell it on for a quick sale. My questions are,

    1) Is DoneDeal the best place for this?

    2) What would be a good price for a quick sale?

Donedeal would be best place for it and the cheapest, however with all those things needing to be fixed you will not get a whole lot for it, expect about 30-40% less than an equivalent model with full NCT. If I was trading that car in to a garage I wouldn't bother fixing them but selling privately I think it would be in your interest to have them fixed and a fresh NCT, will appeal to much more buyers.

As you don't mention the year of your car it's not possible to give any indication, best look at similar models of that year to gauge how much to sell it for.

Atlantic Dawn sorry about the year it's an 02. I already have a new car and I'm just looking to move the Santa Fe on. I was thinking €800 as it is :o ??

Should have plenty of interest in it for €800 as it's running, the cheapest running model on Donedeal is going for asking price of €1700 http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/2298826. I'd stick it up for €1400 and see what the interest is, should get offers in or around €1000 for it.

Op, I'm guessing it's the 2L petrol? The diesels seem to go for a bit more. If so asking of around €1000 would be a get rid of it quickly for ya on donedeal.

Will the tyres fail the NCT? If not I'd fix the other issues and put it through the test and up your asking.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

The guys will make a very low offer in relation to the work that needs done, so advertise for 1300, take a grand. Makes them feel like they got a bargain.

Lads a quick piece of advice needed, I just found out from the guy checking the car that the fuel leak issue was a recall. Am i still covered to get this fixed even though it's an import and how long do recalls last for??

    Any advice would be great.

Ye, I'd say you'd be covered, recalls are generally international, so being an import shouldn't matter. I'm not sure about time limits, probably best to check with Hyundai directly.

Ok, not good news so. Best bet so maybe €700 asking on donedeal with an accurate description of work needed and see what offers you get.

Hard to believe anyone buying that will be paying almost 600euro just to tax the car for a year though...

I've decided to get the pump fix and get it running. i should get the money back for the repairs when it's running, as opposed to not running...

I can charge that bit more for a working car ...Fingers crossed !
