Does anyone know why the government bother adding dye to diesel for tax purposes?

The government spends millions leaning up toxic waste dumped from these diesel laundering factories, not mention on customs and excise fuel inspectors and the loss of tax revenue on diesel in the first place.

Why can farmers/builders not claim back the tax on fuel like with other expenses?

so whats to stop a farmer using the diesel for personla useage, or letting his neighbors fill up there TDI rocket ships at a reduced cost and him making a few bob on the tax claim..
and the same goes for builders... god every builders van, truck, 4*4 would be using the stuff, the tax loss to the state would be massive...

Sell it all duty included and make them claim it back.
