This was posted in the private forum so reposting it here so that all posters get an invite in the Ladies Lounge.

Its been a very long time since we had a Ladies Lounge beers!

How does drinks the weekend of the 19th, 20th or the following weekend 26th, 27th suit people?

    Any suggestions for venues welcome!

The porterhouse, The Church and Cafe en Seine have been mentioned so far.

Dates and venue to be communally decided :)

We are scared of women over there, damn scared.

In all seriousness though,I whole heatedly extend the invite to anyone that would like to join us on that night (27th in the Duke).Im sure previous attendee's will agree we are a welcoming bunch.

I thought that aswell. AFAIK tLL rarely get big numbers for beers, some might be encouraged to go knowing that there'll be boys there!

dublinfriend, moved your post here as

    A) it seems the perfect opportunity to meet some folks

    and

    B) it stops the main board getting cluttered with multiple social requests rather than discussion

Hi! Bout the same here. Up from the country, new to Dublin and know nobody. I know there's a planned Ladies Lounge drinks meet up, might go to that. But I'm not in a situation where I can go out for boozy nights - being pregnant and got no money... - but I'd love to meet up for coffee and chitchat in town! :D

edit: sorry thought I was posting this in the making friends section. Like I said, I'll probably turn up for this - if it's on the weekend of the 26th/27th.

I'm fairly sure this is one of the signs of the Apocalypse!

I think there are a few loungers who are also regular contributors to tGC considering/going to tGC beers but I haven't heard anything about an official loungers beers being combined with another forum.

...of course, my invite could just have been lost in the post. *sniff* :(

Oh and I'm engaged a long time now. Jesus ... Could it be three years?! :O Frickin hell I was young wasn't I :o

Ah so you were engaged then. I was probably so disgusted with you for settling down at such a youthful age that I blanked it from my memory. :D

Some sort of restaurant meet up/meet ups would be more my kinda thing than drinks. Last time I organised it only 3 of us turned up(with a lot of confusion ). I'll leave it in your capable hands to organise it next time. After all, you're the engaged one so you're meant to be grown up and organised and stuff. :D

Would attempt to organise something alright, but there doesn't seem to be all that much interest ...?

This sounds like a lot of fun! Unfortunately I work every weekend, what with being in college during the week :(

Wow that's makes 4 of us already, maybe Dublin won't be so lonely after all! Are people interested in a week night or a weekend night? I should mention I've never organised anything like this every before so if someone wants to jump in and take control, feel free. :-)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 20,366 Mod ✭✭✭✭RacoonQueen

I believe chaterpillar volunteered to organise. :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 747 ✭✭✭qwertytlk

Well i have a small baby so getting a babysitter for me would be easiest at the wknd as people are off work etc. But if people cant do the weekend i could prob arrange a few hours on a week night...

Ooops my bad, didn't mean to step on any toes. -) For what its worth I'm easy about week night vs weekend but would probably prefer going for a drink/coffee than dinner, more relaxed since we're all strangers (I assume).

Don't mind me I'm just winding her up. :D If you want to sort it go right ahead, doesn't look like anyone else will. :)

Thanks RQ! :P See a few posts above, I suggested dates, anytime the weekend of the 7th or the 14th, does that suit anyone? How about this friday?

I'm thinking casual dinner followed by drinks, probably won't bother booking anything, people can go for dinner or drinks or both!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

I would suggest next Friday - there will probably be a few people having an early night this Friday due to needing to be up early on Saturday to watch the Ireland v Wales match (6am start) :pac:
