I was outside my house in west limerick tonight and I saw something fly across the sky. It was much bigger than a shooting star and brighter (fire colour). I was outside my house in west limerick tonight and I saw something fly across the sky. It was much bigger than a shooting star and brighter (fire colour). There was a massive tail attached to it and it looked like it was breaking up. I have never seen anything like that before. Did anyone else see it? What was it?

It really looked like a comet but a lot bigger and closer. Really don't know what I saw.

I saw it too!

I was out walking my dog and at 0026hrs the sky above me lit up brightly.

I looke dup and i saw the very same as you and i am in Co. Offaly.

It appeared to me but i might be wrong just guessing to run from South towards the north and yes it broke up long before it hit the horizon.

Truely incredible to witness this i would love to know exactly what it was!

it definitely was no chinese lantern i just feel sorry for all the people who did not have the privelage to witness this amazing sight it was truely amazing experience.

Something caught my eye in the sky too here in Limerick City. Though it was a plane or helicopter at first but thought is was travelling to fast and quiet and that is what caught my attention. Seemed quite bright.
