Ollie Croft voted off the BDO Board and Martin Adams voted in. Rumours going around that he threatened to pull the masters.

About time this man was voted off the BDO board but I feel it's far too late,it should have been done years ago and IMO the damage is done and a new board will find it virtually impossible to try and build up the BDO to the great organisation it once was.

The whole BDO board was voted off yesterday bar 1! Not convinced if Adams is going to be any better than what was already there.

Found this report on the BDO AGM earlier and as I guessed it seems Olly Croft was very bitter at been ousted out. This man was one of those responsible for bringing darts from the public house to big venues and nationwide TV and for that he deserves some credit but in the past 20 years he had become an arrogant dictator who has destroyed the BDO.

Don’t know what to make of Adams on the board. A conflict of interest springs to mind. But in saying that something has to be done with the BDO.

The prize money is a joke, €2500 for the winner at the weekend. The BDO will struggle to keep the best players while offering that kind of money.

For a €20 entry fee it means some one is making 150 times the entrance fee.

In the PDC you pay 100 per event not including pdc membership fee with 6k for the winner. thats a 60-1 return on entry fee.

So while its not the 6k one gets from the pdc the event is 5 times as cheap for half the prize money.

Just off a UK darts forum and 5 days after voting Olly Croft off the BDO board the new board have turned around and made him life president:confused:! Well that's a step in the wrong direction already and also rumours that BBC will be sharing the coverage of Lakeside with ESPN,Olly has not gone away you know!!

Madness, things were looking up for the BDO after getting rod of Croft. Hopefully it's just an honourary title and he will have no say in the running of things anymore.

Great news for the BDO if ESPN are on board, they will have no problem showing extensive coverage of the darts which will only be good for the organisation.

As far as I know ESPN will be covering all the games Saturday to Friday and then the BBC will show the last two days.
Strange if true, but I hope ESPN show all the darts as the BBC don’t give a f*ck about the darts, we won’t have to put up with the red button rubbish just as a game is about to end.

Well with ESPN there's more chance of other BDO tournaments been screened surely? BBC want out of darts coverage and the sooner the better!

They are showing the Winmau Masters in a few weeks, so hopefully they will pick up a few more BDO events. The BBC coverage over the last few years is a joke.
