Racism on Fox News website

The Fox News website allows readers to comment on almost all of their stories. I often go there to try and get an insight into the thinking of the right/conservative voters. The things written about last nights riots in Tottenham are a pretty good example. Unashamedly out and out racism. Really gives you an insight into the mind of a lot of Fox News watchers.

This sort of stuff has been posted for years on this website and they've done nothing about it. Free speech is great and all but this is just hate mongering.

Do you think this is all part of Fox and Murdoch's plan to divide America?

Unfortunately people can pretty much spout anything on these comments sections because of the high volume. This gem from the Daily Mail today:

"Send in the Parra's to deal with large scale riots , a squad of Parra's would have quelled this riot in an hour..................mind you there would have been hundreds of broken arms and legs............

    - Paul, Cardiff, 07/8/2011 12:08"

Surely you must've realised that the system we have in place today has nothing to do with free speech.

was looking at the comments in relation to the Norway terrorism attacks a few days ago and was absolutely gobsmacked by the comments. Some very very sick and warped interpretation of world events by alot of the americans on that site. There was a few comments that justified the killings placing the blame on muslims. The FBI or whoever would do well to monitor some of the posters on it

A news channel that allows Bill O reilly to air his views is not worth viewing.

Bill O'Reilly is actually fairly moderate on Fox, well in comparison to the rest anyway:eek:

CNN on the other side isn't much better, once known as Clinton Network News

CNN Europe is pretty bland though, not much bias at all

    Press TV isnt better either:

    "Voice of Africa
    8/7/2011 1:47:37 PM
The pink "white" people reign of terror and butchery of brown "black" men will come to an end if we make africa an unsafe place for pink "white" people. these crime against our brother will be taken into consideration when we are dealing with these historical evil beings that have only shown brown "black" people hell. Frankly I'm shocked. Fox news is the last place I would have expected racism to exist.

Are you sure it isn't Muslims pretending to be Fox news fans?

    Its "Fox News network"
...So what can ya really expect!
    Its reputation precedes it.

Generally people who take the time to post comments and have an argument with eachother on a news website are either ignorant as shít or just extremely opinionated.

    Good man.
Do you always think that when you hear about riots? For instance the riots that occur fairly often in Northern Ireland or the 'Love Ulster' one that occured not so long ago in Dublin?
If so, you're probably wrong fairly often, too.

Going on the still pics on the BBC news site it would appear to be a cross community effort, certainly.

the sad thing is thats true, compared to hannity and beck et al, o reilly is left leaning, never mind talk radio listeners in the us who probably consider oreilly a liberal socialist nazi communist :p i remember one time o reilly was on the daily show and stewart said something like "compared to some on that network you are one of us"

They gave Glenn Beck a show, which says it all, really.

It's unfortunately a typical response seen the world over from the same racial groups. The saddest in recent times being Hurricane Katrina.

Some of the comments about the Heidi Klum divorce are pretty bad

    link

A bunch of bigots furious that she married a black man in the first place. It's like something from Stormfront.

Racism in Hollywood. Arizona banning ethnic studies. Now an old thread about racism on Fox News.

What in the hell is up with threads attempting to analyze the racism in the US?

Murdoch has no plan like this.

His only plan is making money.

This is actually a little depressing because I'm sure there are people over on Free Republic that would actually believe this.

Now there's a real haven of ignorance and barely repressed racism.

I haven't read the posts posed here following the above - I will say this however in response to the above.

This is why I'm glad we have Mods here that do the job they do.
They might get knocked by those that might object to their decisions but I'd still rather they be here than see any forum (or internet area) like boards.ie descend into chaos and utter levels of lower stupidity.

It's no coincidence that people who bitch and moan constantly about the mods here are the ones who are always causing sh1t.
