    Asking for a mate:
    Is it possible to recieve the BTE allowance if a person is on a 1 year eramus course.They returned to college as a muture student in 2009 and are doing their 3rd year in england on a eramus ,starting this september.

    Are they currently in receipt of bte... if not I dont think so... but get them to check it out..but they can apply for a grant from the college for the erasmus year... obviously it is means tested against their parents earnings. If they are currently in receipt of BTE they need to check it out.

    Yeah they recieved the BTE the last two years.

    Yes they can - they will need to produce a letter from their college stating the Erasmus is an integral part of their course of study, and a registration letter also.
