    :)
I found myself passing through Thurles, the home of The Trip to Tipp music festivals which was Oxygen for teenagers of the late 80's and early 90's. I spent a few lost week ends there with half a tent, a crate of beer and one sleeping bag between me and my then girlfriend. The town was not remotely familiar. It was a little like the saying "If you remember the 60's you weren't there"
Does anyone else have any fond non memories of The Trip to Tipp!!!?

I was at that festival 3 times and last year sometime I was back in Thurles. The town hasnt changed much from what i remember but i hadnt a rashers how to get out to the stadium. Considering I would have made the trip from the town to the stadium a dozen times each weekend so about 36 times I must have been pretty hammered!

I was at them all apart from the first.
Went from '91 onwards. Was only 11 for my first.
    Great time.

I was nearly raped there, by this little pr*ck from Newry. I went back to his tent for a snog (and said no about ten times when he tried to convince me he was a great shag). They he tried pulling my clothes off really roughly, so I got up and ran, and ran, and ran. Thankfully he was too drunk to catch me (and yeah, he came after me and was really angry and abusive and ripped out a chunk of my hair).

Good life lesson for me though. Compounded by the fact he was walking into the campsite behind me the next day and was going on about what a little tease I was to his mates.

If I had been older I would have taken him up on it in broad daylight, but I was too young at the time to know how.

I hope he's been knocked over by a car since.

But bar that, happy memories :)

I was there on the last year which was a one day Trip to Tipp festival, Prodigy headlining and had Foo Fights and Manic Street preachers, each who had just released a very successful album
Oh and Kula Shaker and the Cardigans
