hi all i bought a cracking little van,,,a renault kangoo,,,everything is perfect in here,,,smashing condition and just a beaut and very economical to drive,,,,9this is common in these vans) before i bought it the guy who i bought it off told me the speedo sensor was gone,,,so after talking on the phone he said he fix it for an agreed van price,,,grand he done it and texted me to say it was done,,,,,without anydoubts i bought it and glad i did,,,,,,he showed me old part of the last speed and the receipt and box off the new one,,,all was up to date,,,,,the date on the invoice was bang on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he bought it in citygate motors liffey valley(true renault dealer) and cost nearly 60 euro.

now the van drives well,,,she has great little power and a beaut to drive

i have noticed thou that if im in 5th gear and at 40mph lets say and put the foot down she will take up speed in 5th no bother but when it got to near 60mph flashing lights came on the dash.....i touched the break and they went off straight away,,,,and drove away again no bother,,,up to 80omp if i wanted and they wouldnt come on

whats the story with this when theres a new sensor gone in

could it be fitted faulty or do i have to bring it in to renault to get them to tell the computer the part has being fixed as someone suggested to me

    thanks for answers

Assuming its the engine management light thats coming on, you will need to get it on diagnostics.
Problems with the fuel system on these can give the symptom you describe.
Hope you got it very cheap...
