    For goodness sake. Turn your lights on.

    It difficult enough to see the road at times without trying to make out blured shapes in the mist and spray.

    When will people realise that they are to help you be seen as well as help you see.

    Rant over.

    + 1 to the OP > Good safety reminder.

    People in Ireland do not switch on their dips half enough.
    Certain colours of car can be much harder to see than others depending on the conditions.
    Germany, Spain, France and others have encouraged or required daytime use of low-beam headlamps on certain roads at certain times of year, Ireland encourages and Bulgaria requires the use of low-beam headlights at all times during winter, Italy, Hungary and Romania require daytime running lamps outside populated areas, and Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia require the use of full or reduced voltage low-beam headlights at all times.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daytime_running_lamp

    From the rules of the Road ;

    Daytime running lights

    Daytime running lights refers to driving with dipped head lights during daytime, The use of dipped headlights can help reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on our roads.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Driving on the M4 between Maynooth and Lucan at around 5PM during a massive cloudburst and there were several drivers who kept their speed (well over 100km/h) and didn't switch their lights on :rolleyes:

    Idiots, incompetent clowns. You'd nearly wish they got a nice bout of aquaplaning scaring the sh1t out of them...

    I was nearly pulling over on the N17 only for there was no where to pull in, and yet there was still the odd one with no lights on.

    Which are you saying you should use, parking lights or dipped headlights?

    Personally I always drive with dipped heads on during the day ...

    Also. Watch out for puddles.

    Thought I'd make a splash... ended up having to wade through. Some are deceptively deep because this was a metric ****tonne of rain.
