Surely with the technology and components they use to create clubs these days you'd get better spin from a non rusted wedge.

Well what type of rusty club are you talking about? Some random one you left lying out in the rain...or a vokey/Cleveland/callaway/Taylor made? If it's one of the latter, your ball-striking is extremely poor if you can't tell a difference.

P.s. The rust has very little to do with anything, it's just a preferred finish as it reduces glare at address.

well i was talking about a rusty club i spent 40 euro on and i wedge i spent 20 on. I get just as much spin on a standard wedge, No need to be soo offended by a comment buddy, i was just saying what i thought.

I'm not the one getting offended. I was simply pointing out that if you can't tell the different in performance between a premium wedge and a €20 one, your ball striking couldn't be up to much

You won't get one of the better wedges for under 100e but if you do there's no comparison in the spin generated - although I have the vokey spin mills as I couldn't get used to the look of the rusted ones. If anything you can get too much spin.

I was not talking about a premium wedge, i was using my clubs as an example, And i found no difference betweeen them. Im not saying there will be no difference between a vokey spin milled and a vokey rusty spin milled because there more than likely will be at the price the wedge is going at. and my ball striking is fine :):)

Apologies then, wasn't sure what you meant as you differentiated between them by one being rusty and the other costing 20 euro...gave the impression that the rusty one was expensive.

In truth there's very little if any difference between the spin levels between a vokey chrome finish and the rusty, it's mainly an anti-glare effect at address and slightly different feel.

I have a Cleveland 60 degree Wedge. It's rusty, but that doesn't mean it creates more spin than conventional heads. I believe thats more down to the type of grooves. For me, with that club i like the look and feel of it. Great for getting out of trouble with and for the high (bladed :D) flop shot.
