Hi guys, I'll ty my best to explain my problem. I have a laptop with windows 7,it's about a year old, at Christms I got a philips mp4 player and had no problem installing the software'Philips Songbird' and using it.
In March this year, my sister had my laptop when I was on holidays and a virus came on it so had to get it wiped in a computer shop for it to work again. Only now I have tried to reinstall the software for the mp4 player but it is saying i is not supported by this program or something. How can it be if it was already installed on the computer before???

I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense, I don't know much about technology just like my stuff to work! Thanks very much

Hi, thanks for the replies lads, have tried both of them options and neither is working, it installs about 25% of the way and then says error, is there anything else I can try?
    Thanks

By wiped do you mean re-installed windows?

If not then look around and make sure that songbird is fully deleted from add and remove programs and the program files folder.

    Give CCleaner a go to.

Also what exactly does it say when it stops installing?

Can we get the exact text of the error?

try cleaning your registry with something like this
    http://download.cnet.com/Auslogics-Registry-Cleaner/3000-2094_4-10909814.html
as it may be preventing it from installing

HI, sorry for the delay, wasn't online all wknd

Well when i brought it into the shop i had to save all my photos music etc kus he said i would lose it otherwise.

The text says "Philips Songbird is unsupported on this version of Windows.
You may continue the installation but some function\lity may be degraded or unavailable. I can go on from this window then continue the setup but bout 25% in this window comes up "An error has occured during the installation. Please launch the installation again to install Philips songbird. "

Then another windows comes up to install with reccommended settings i do that but it still doesn't work?
