Well its common knowledge, Down lost over 500 pts tonight and the Italian stock market is down to 15,800 on afterhours trading, so it doesn't take a Einstein to figure out that tomorrow is going to be a bloodbath.

i would have thought it obvious. In a time of grave economic depression, and specifically preceding a big market crash, investors will want to sell all their shares before they further crash in value.

Hope the whole fukin thing comes crumbling down. But alas the world doesnt work like that, lots of people will get afraid and sell their stocks at a loss and lots of people with lots of money will buy lots of stocks cheap and make lots more money. Theres too many people with too much money to let the entire thing collapse, they just like letting it wobble every now and again to shake off the common folk who have aspirations beyond their station.

Such nonsense, "second great depression" are you serious

The Dow dropped over 7,000 points (roughly 50%) in 2008/09 and it didn't create a depression.

The markets are just reacting to the Italy/Spain potential bailouts, and unemployment in the US.

    Markets ALWAYS over-react.

fyp. Markets are shoals, driven by sentiment, The shoal is sh1tting itself, so sentiment is down. Many short sellers are buying a new yacht on the back of this. For every seller, theres a buyer don't forget, so sell sell sell, but others are in buy buy buy mode. This might not apply to Irelands property market btw, for every seller, there aint no buyer. Thats when you know you are short term focked.

    Correct.

And lets not forget... "THE MARKETS" are select number of people who control the strings of capitalism. The decision makers. The Bilderberger's who behind closed doors determine the agenda of the markets.

I cant stand all of this crap.
FTSE at its lowest level since November 2010. Euro at its weakest against the Dollar since May 2009 etc etc.
Boll0x, if something was at July 1985 levels, then it might mean something.
Markets go up and down, that's no surprise.
