Thats quite a good report, Basically i have to loose weight and get better components for the bike :D
Personally i do think that carb loading is beneficial for longer spins/races, well i can really only speak for the mtb discipline but i find when there is a lot of climbing this is key to me feeling ok to the end.
But something that i was considering the other day while out was what draws the line between taking to many carbs to a stage where you will cramp up and, your body being able to handle what you put in. I know myself that if i put the recommended amount of mix into my drink i get a stitch, but is this because the body cant process it or is it because it just doesnt agree with me in such a dose. basically is there a connection between fitness and carb/caffeine intake, example, the fitter you are the harder you work the more the body needs to replenish the spent carb/caffeine supplements.
As i said just something i was pondering while out on the bike and this post seemed to be in the same area so thought i would see if anyone had any ideas or thoughts on the matter.
