the sheldon/wil wheadon dynamic is just genius !

    :)

best character mix up since ace rimmer. as long as they dont over do it your looking at one of the best ongoing gags in the series.

Absolutely terrible, endured the whole tediousness waiting for the 'funny' bit. Nearly puts me off one of my favorite shows.

E4 have the first rights to it AFAIK.. and they're only half way through their first showing of season 4.

    If I was a betting man, I'd say they'll air season 5 mid 2012.

RTE no? They've been advertising the fact that they had it but I dunno where they are in showing it.

E4 have shown the whole of Season 4, so it will probably be at least December before they show Season 5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,281 ✭✭✭RobertFoster

November on E4 according to GeekTown.
    Big Bang Theory, Season 5 – E4 – November 2011 (TBC)
Was going to run after season 4 finishes, but BBT S5 has now moved to November.

Season 4 only finished this day last week on E4. And Season 5 only starts in the US today. IIRC Season 4 commenced around Christmas time last year on E4 (there was a mid-season break which is why it took so long to finish).

you get so used to sheldons asexuality, you never question jim parsons sexuality, but it seems he was "outed" by the tabloids after his emmy win, and proposed to his boyfriend. best of luck to him. after watching the comic con vid, i see it now.

he also has the NPH seal of approval (TM)

*edit* oops seems i'm a year late with that piece of news.

Pretty good opener, Sheldon was on top form. Knew Raj and Penny didn't actually sleep together - it'd ruin the dynamic of the show.
The haemorrhoid commercial was pretty funny too.

Episode 2 was not as good IMO. Some pretty funny parts, but a bit more boring or something.

We couldn't wait long in our house for the Season 5 episodes so we bought a HDMI cable and hooked the laptop up to the telly and watched the first two episodes that aired last night.

New season is getting a big thumbs up from me anyway! :D

Its bad enough listening to Howards mother! Its too much!! TOO MUCH!!!!

I assume they're doing the transition to her being Howard's new mother. I never laughed so hard in my laugh as when she "became" her in the hospital. "TO THE TOILET! IS THAT OK WITH YOU?"

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

I thought episode 2 was stronger then the opener....they kinda washed Penny sluttin' it up under the carpet, as many expected Raj didn't quite "perform", as we've seen before Penny and Sheldon were ace!...like an old married couple, they bounce zingers off each other perfectly.

Not much to add, TBBT always delivers the laughs. 4/5

Good start to the season, I see this as the only comedic contender to Modern Family this year for me!

I do have genitals. They’re functional and aesthetically pleasing.

    Brent Spiner (Data from TNG)
    to guest star with
    Wil Wheaton
    on oct 13th

delighted, big fan of his, he's a very underrated actor, and has great comic timing. will be fun to see him riff off sheldon.

We had a stray cat make itself comfy in our house, we thought it was a male so we were calling it Sheldon but it turns out it's a female.

Wish America wasn't five hours behind, I wanna watch the next episode now!

Sheldon: "i've seen pictures of your mother, keep eating" ...

BAZINGA!, oh snap!....the look on Penny's face....Sheldon you ledge!! :D
I see Lorre takes another thinly veiled potshot at Charlie Sheen in his new #353 vanity card....he can't let it go can he?

As for the ep. LOL @ the whole Bernadette mimicking Howard's mom....that is just too weird for words!, anyone suspect they'll break up?...i get the feeling it's heading in that direction, i'd prefer to see her with Leonard.

Are the new episodes up?? Cant wait to get home to watch them!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Pretty good episode, I don't think they're going to do a big shakeup of the relationships (other than Leonard and Priya will break up IMO).
I think Prady said that this season will he heavily involved in the wedding planning, we'll see a bachelor party and maybe a spring wedding - as well as Howard having problems letting go of his mother.
I'm not sure the wedding will happen, but I'd like to see it.

I'd actually like to see Penny and Leonard back together, but idk if that'll happen

Loved the new episode!! Amy Farrah Fowler played an absolute blinder!!

Bound to happen before the end of the series tbh, just hopefully not in the last episode. :pac:

I said that to my sister too. Amy annoyed me at first but she's being written into it really well and seeing Sheldon get jealous of Leonard and Amy makes her more intriguing. Especially after him stating his genitals were in full working order in the previous episode, it feels like something might just happen there. :D It's gonna be strung out though!

However, that episode has made me realise how Raj and Sheldon are my favourite characters.

Haha! She has to be the most revolting character after Fat Bastard in Austin Powers and we've never even seen her!

Watched that one night when I got home drunk, nearly woke a few people with my laughter. :pac:

I hate to say it but I've been disappointed with the first three episodes of the new series. I think they have been dumbed down a little with less real sciencey jokes(geology is not a real science notwithstanding) and a larger focus on group relationships and cheap laughs from trite character idiosyncrasies.

Simply put, it's going the same way as friends. I really hope it picks up.

Yeah I hope they pick up the science jokes again. Don't think there was one at all in the last episode. :(

Completely agree. I've been very disappointed with the first 3 episodes. The fact that it definitely has another 2 seasons after this one makes me want to support the show even less - they don't really have to try as hard. I have the same problem with HIMYM.
Whereas with the likes of Community or Raising Hope there are no certainties and I just think everyone involved tries that little bit harder so that they can have the security of another year of work. And as a result shows like that are better than awesome.

I didn't know that, but it's a good point. I think that generally very successful shows become lazy and self-absorbed....much like popular people!

Do we expect more from Chuck Lorre? He made 2 and Half Men FFS!

Good episode with the exception of all the Howard/his mother/Bernadette stuff. That wasn't really that funny. The Leonard and Amy scenes were fantastic.
