student contribution?

    Doing a postgrad in September, a little confused..

    The fees listed in my course website say
    5,400 euro + capitation?
    ermm what is capitation? is this the same thing as student contribution fee?

    or will i have to pay 5,400 + capitation + student contribution :(

    Is this DIT?

    As far as I know capitation is another word for student contribution - so it looks like you pay 5400 + 2000 - also if you don't get a grant to cover the fees you can get tax relief on the tuition fees - which means you can get some of the fee back - It can also be claimed by someone like your parent or partner

    Hi... On the 'Student Contribution' of €2,000.

    Can I as a parent approach teh College (Mary Imm) to seek to pay €1,000 in Sept and €1,000 in December ???

    Yes - no problem in asking

    You can, but your son/daughter will probably get the answer quicker than you as there are no service level agreements for parents in most 3rd levels, whereas staff and students will likely get the response.

    There shouldn't be an issue in principle with splitting the contribution.
