That time of year again :)

Fire away with your predictions, they can be altered anytime up to the eve of the Packers/Saints season opener. After that, they're locked in I'm afraid!

    AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
    AFC South: Indianapolis Colts
    AFC East: New England Patriots
    AFC West: San Diego Chargers

    NFC North: Green Bay Packers
    NFC South: New Orleans Saints
    NFC East: Dallas Cowboys
    NFC West: St. Louis Rams

AFC Championship: New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts
NFC Championship: New Orleans Saints vs Green Bay Packers
Superbowl: New England Patriots vs New Orleans Saints
    Superbowl Winner: New England Patriots

    "Surprise" Team: Detroit Lions
    Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Philadelphia Eagles
    Worst Team: Washington Redskins

    Off MVP: Tom Brady
    Def MVP: DeMarcus Ware
    Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones
    Def Rookie MVP: Von Miller
    "Surprise" Player: Danario Alexander
    Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Michael Vick

Audacious Prediction of the Season: A team will go 16-0.

    Your Own Team
    Regular season record: 13-3

Most looking forward to seeing: Fat Albert and Big Vince line up side by side.

    AFC North: Baltimore Ravens
AFC South: Houston Texans, Wade Philips will sort the D and it'll all come together. I know the Texans flatter to deceive every year but this is the year I reckon
    AFC East: New England Patriots
AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs, I love their offseason signings, it's up and up.

    NFC North: Green Bay Packers
NFC South: New Orleans Saints, poor running game last year hurt but this should be improved this year
    NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
    NFC West: St. Louis Rams

AFC Championship: New England Patriots vs Baltimore Ravens
NFC Championship: Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints, Eagles to come up short yet again
Superbowl: Baltimore Ravens vs New Orleans Saints
    Superbowl Winner: Baltimore Ravens

"Surprise" Team: Detroit Lions, gonna get a wildcard slot. Though I don't think the Lions are a surprise team anymore
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Chicago Bears, will miss the playoffs despite last years deep playoff run
Worst Team: Cincinnati Bengals and they need to start Bruce Gradowski sooner rather then later. So many problems and a lot of them due to their owner

Off MVP: Drew Brees, I'm need to think about this one and may edit before the deadline
Def MVP: Tamba Hali, beast of a player
    Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones
Def Rookie MVP: Patrick Peterson, top player and with DRC gone will be thrust into a lot of responsibility
"Surprise" Player: James Laurenitis, second round pick for Rams. Top MLB and heading for the probowl and team captaincy.
    Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Mark Sanchez

Audacious Prediction of the Season: The return of the run game. Three or more players will top 1500 yds, not happened for last three seasons. Ok, not audacious but it's my predication

    Your Own Team Baltimore Ravens
    Regular season record: 13-3
    Best rookie: Jimmy Smith CB
Most looking forward to seeing: New DC this year, secondary coach Chuck Pagano was promoted. A return to "organized chaos" and brutal, aggressive defense, it's what's Baltimore is known for
At least used to be known for :o

AFC North:Baltimore Ravens (Pittsburgh often struggle the year after making a superbowl)
    AFC South:Colts, as always
    AFC East: Pats
AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs/Denver Broncos (have a funny feeling, 9-7 will likely win this division)

    NFC North: Green Bay Packers
    NFC South: New Orleans Saints
    NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
    NFC West: St. Louis Rams

AFC Championship Game: Baltimore @ New England (though it could as easily be colts, unsure)
NFC Championship Game: Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers
Superbowl: Green Bay to repeat over Baltimore.. though i have a funny feeling about Eagles/Pats rematch either
Surprise Team: My very own broncos. Drafting Von Miller, 2 safeties, a DT and 2 linebackers to go along with the additions of Bunkley and Ty Warren with Dumervil, Dawkins and Champ already there means our defence will make marked improvements while our offence is already decent (and outright explosive if Tebow ends up at QB)
Underachieving team: As always, im picking the chargers. May make playoffs but it will be the same old story after that. Given the level of talent there it constitutes underachieving imo.
Worst Team: One of the two ohio teams, literally cannot make my mind up as to who will be worse between the browns and bengals

    MVP: Aaron Rodgers
    Offensive MVP: Michael Vick
    DPOY: Clay Matthews
    Offensive Rookie MVP: Cam Newton
    Defensive Rookie MVP: Von Miller
Surprise Player: Darren Sproles( i reckon he'll have a huge impact in New Orleans and to make them forget about Reggie Bush)
Underachiever of the year: Jay Cutler

Audacious prediction of the year: Heres a few: Raiders to return to the 5 wins or less club, Pittsburgh to struggle this year by their standards thanks to a SB hangover, Detroit to still struggle despite a talented team, Sam Bradford to have a pro bowl season thanks in part to Josh Mc Daniels, Cutler to feel the heat a bit from the fans after what happened in the NFC conference game and not perform as well due to it.

    My own Team (Broncos):
Record: 7-9 to 9-7 mark or thereabouts
Best Rookie: Von Miller. However the one im most excited about is our fourth round TE, Julius Thomas. Meant to be lighting up camp and has been touted by some to be in the mould of one Antonio Gates.
Most looking forward to seeing: Us win a meaningful game for the first time in a while, i hope! That and a revitalised Defence under Fox's steady hand.

    AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
    AFC South: Houston Texans
    AFC East: New England Patriots
    AFC West: San Diego Chargers

    NFC North:
    Green Bay Packers
    NFC South: New Orleans Saints
    NFC East: Dallas Cowboys
    NFC West: St Louis Rams

    AFC Championship:
New England Patriots vs San Diego Chargers
NFC Championship: Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers
Superbowl: New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers
    Superbowl Winner: Green Bay Packers

    "Surprise" Team:
    Houston Texans
    Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: New York Jets
    Worst Team: SF 49ers

    Off MVP: Aaron Rodgers
    Def MVP: Clay Matthews
    Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones
    Def Rookie MVP: Nick Fairley
"Surprise" Player: Andy Dalton (if he can get the starts)
    Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Mark Sanchez

    Audacious Prediction of the Season:
Julio Jones will break a receiving record as a rookie with the Falcons. In the perfect team for a receiver and from the little I've seen of him - and from what all the pros are saying about him - he could be a mammoth WR. Edit: not that audacious. May try harder.

    Your Own Team: Packers
Regular season record: 13-3 (losses coming on the road at Detroit, Atlanta and San Diego)
    Best rookie: Alex Green
Most looking forward to seeing: Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley back in action. Their replacements did brilliantly whilst they were out injured last season but they should improve the side big time now that they're back.

Wanted to edit my post but can't

Anyway, I'm turning from the Chiefs to the Chargers for AFC West and my predictions are set

    AFC North: Baltimore Ravens
AFC South: Houston Texans, Wade Philips will sort the D and it'll all come together. I know the Texans flatter to deceive every year but this is the year I reckon
    AFC East: New England Patriots
    AFC West: San Diego Chargers

    NFC North: Green Bay Packers

    Regular season record: 12-4
    Best rookie: Jimmy Smith CB
Most looking forward to seeing: New DC this year, secondary coach Chuck Pagano was promoted. A return to "organized chaos" and brutal, aggressive defense, it's what's Baltimore is known for
At least used to be known for :o

"Surprise" Team: Cleveland Browns-bullish on Colt McCoy, Hillis & Hardesty, decent D and good receiving corps.
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Philadelphia Eagles-Vick to struggle in "second season". O-Line continuing to have difficulty, teams to run against them with effect
    Worst Team: Carolina Panthers

    Off MVP: Philip Rivers
    Def MVP: Mario Williams
    Off Rookie MVP:Mark Ingram
    Def Rookie MVP: JJ Watt
"Surprise" Player: Malcolm Jenkins (Saints secondary)-will have a huge season
    "Surprise" Rookie: Greg Little
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Michael Vick (could be proved badly wrong here!)

Audacious Prediction of the Season: Philip Rivers to break the single season passing record (not the most audacious prediction in the world I'll admit!)

Your Own Team - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Regular season record: 6-10 (hope I'm wrong here!)
Best rookie: Adrian Clayborn (we'll have a great season if this is Mason Foster or Da'Quan Bowers, but Clayborn seems the safest shout here)
Most looking forward to seeing: If Josh Freeman can keep his meteoric rise up the QB rankings. If he does, I'll he happy to be wrong with my prediction!

actually surprised at the lack of backing for Von Miller for DROY! Only the highest drafted Defensive player and he's bound to make an impact on last year's league worst defence with John Fox in charge!

    AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
    AFC South: Houston Texans
    AFC East: New England Patriots
    AFC West: San Diego Chargers

    NFC North: Greenbay Packers
    NFC South: Atlanta Falcons
    NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
    NFC West: St Louis Rams

AFC Championship: Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots
NFC Championship: Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons
Superbowl: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Philadelphia Eagles
    Superbowl Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers

"Surprise" Team: Cleveland Browns-as a Longhorns fan I know what Colt McCoy can do and its no surprise to see him getting as much praise as he has lately (Lots to choose from but can the Rams, Lions or even a Cardinals team just one season removed from a Super Bowl spot really be called surprises?)
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Green Bay Packers (its not that I think they will flop its just that the sense of expectation on Green Bay makes it seem that anything less than another title would be deemed a failure)
Worst Team: Cincinnati Bengals (terrible team and a rookie QB makes for a disastrous season)

Off MVP: Matt Ryan (The Falcons drafted Julio Jones to get them over the playoff hump but coming off an NFC best 13-3 last year he should help Ryan build on his numbers and with Tony Gonzalez also signed Ryan has a superb outlet should the rush come at him. I expect him to pass for over 4200 and 35 TD while increasing his average yards per attempt to somewhere approaching 8.5 yards. The MVP race will be close but the Falcons winning 14 games should put him close to contention for it ahead of Rodgers and Brady)
Def MVP: DeMarcus Ware (With Rob Ryan calling the shots Ware will be in "hunt them down" mode all season and could have 20 sacks)
Off Rookie MVP: Im going with Bama here, Mark Engram or Julio Jones
Def Rookie MVP: Von Miller (He looks ready to be a pass rushing threat from Sunday)

"Surprise" Player: LeSean McCoy (he will come through as an elite level back this year)
"Surprise" Rookie: Jake Locker (when CJ gets going Locker will be in the lineup and the team will perform)
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Dont know who to put here but the one thing I will guarentee is that Reggie Bush will not live up to the hype of being an every down back!

Audacious Prediction of the Season: Nnamdi Asomugha is going to be caught out this year! Teams arent going to shy away from throwing to him like they did in Oakland and even though he is superb he will get beaten from time to time and people will look at the contract given to him and think the Eagles overpaid

    Your Own Team - Eagles
    Regular season record: 12-4
Best rookie: Casey Matthews (He'll start from day one and while he wont be as effective as Clay he will be a solid performer in a line backer corp that will be encouraged to blitz. The strong defensive backfield makes the Eagles a great landing sport for Casey
Most looking forward to seeing: Absolutely everything! The offensive will be as explosive as ever and the defensive should be one that will bring back memories of Jim Johnston's. The O-line is the clear weakness but I'm confident we can overcome that

The O-line is the clear weakness but I'm confident we can overcome that

wow, you think he'll be that good?

Superbowl Winner: New England Patriots wrong

    "Surprise" Team: Cleveland Browns whoops
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Chicago Bears underachieved but were doing well till Cutler & Forte went down
Worst Team: Seattle Seahawks Very wrong

Off MVP: Tom Brady not that far off
    Def MVP: Jonathon Joseph wrong
Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones wrong
Def Rookie MVP: Robert Quinn wrong
"Surprise" Player: Matthew Stafford (to finally show what he can do with a full season under his belt) I suppose this can be considered spot on
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Mark Sanchez Disappointing season yet again
Audacious Prediction of the Season: None of the rookie first round QB's to have decent seasons. Yikes!

    Your Own Team (Lions)
    Regular season record: 9-7/10-6 Right
Best rookie: Mikel Leshore Turned out to be Titus Young
Most looking forward to seeing: How many TD's Megatron can score with Stafford under centre for the campaign & hopefully claim a wildcard spot.Got 16 TD's over the season with an additional 2 in the wildcard game.Certainly was something to look foward to!

AFC North:Baltimore Ravens (Pittsburgh often struggle the year after making a superbowl) yup
AFC South:Colts, as always oh god, though i didnt think manning would miss the year
AFC East: Pats yup, hardly went out on a limb though
AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs/Denver Broncos (have a funny feeling, 9-7 will likely win this division) Delighted to have got that right, 9-7 would have won it too!

NFC North: Green Bay Packers yeah
NFC South: New Orleans Saints yeah
    NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles nope
NFC West: St. Louis Rams lolno

AFC Championship Game: Baltimore @ New England (though it could as easily be colts, unsure) bang on the money
NFC Championship Game: Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers completely wrong
Superbowl: Green Bay to repeat over Baltimore.. though i have a funny feeling about Eagles/Pats rematch either completely wrong
Surprise Team: My very own broncos. Drafting Von Miller, 2 safeties, a DT and 2 linebackers to go along with the additions of Bunkley and Ty Warren with Dumervil, Dawkins and Champ already there means our defence will make marked improvements while our offence is already decent (and outright explosive if Tebow ends up at QB) bang on
Underachieving team: As always, im picking the chargers. May make playoffs but it will be the same old story after that. Given the level of talent there it constitutes underachieving imo. bang on
Worst Team: One of the two ohio teams, literally cannot make my mind up as to who will be worse between the browns and bengals well cleveland predictably sucked but the Colts definitely wasnt expected

    MVP: Aaron Rodgers correct
    Offensive MVP: Michael Vick no
    DPOY: Clay Matthews no
Offensive Rookie MVP: Cam Newton correct
Defensive Rookie MVP: Von Miller delighted to be spot on there
Surprise Player: Darren Sproles( i reckon he'll have a huge impact in New Orleans and to make them forget about Reggie Bush) spot on again
Underachiever of the year: Jay Cutler injury scratched that one but he was doing well up to then

Audacious prediction of the year: Heres a few: Raiders to return to the 5 wins or less club, Pittsburgh to struggle this year by their standards thanks to a SB hangover, Detroit to still struggle despite a talented team, Sam Bradford to have a pro bowl season thanks in part to Josh Mc Daniels, Cutler to feel the heat a bit from the fans after what happened in the NFC conference game and not perform as well due to it. complete fail...except maybe Pitt because not winning at least 1 playoff game= a bad season for them

    My own Team (Broncos):
Record: 7-9 to 9-7 mark or thereabouts yup:D
Best Rookie: Von Miller. However the one im most excited about is our fourth round TE, Julius Thomas. Meant to be lighting up camp and has been touted by some to be in the mould of one Antonio Gates. Right on Miller, jury still very much out on Thomas
Most looking forward to seeing: Us win a meaningful game for the first time in a while, i hope! That and a revitalised Defence under Fox's steady hand. and how. what an enjoyable season

    Didnt do too bad...

    AFC North: Baltimore Ravens correct
AFC South: Houston Texans, Wade Philips will sort the D and it'll all come together. I know the Texans flatter to deceive every year but this is the year I reckon correct and Wade Philips was indeed the man
AFC East: New England Patriots correct
AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs, I love their offseason signings, it's up and up. incorrect, sunk like a stone

NFC North: Green Bay Packers correct
NFC South: New Orleans Saints, poor running game last year hurt but this should be improved this year correct
NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles bwa ha ha ha, looks like I got suckered by the hype
NFC West: St. Louis Rams incorrect

AFC Championship: New England Patriots vs Baltimore Ravens correct
NFC Championship: Philadelphia Eagles vs New Orleans Saints, Eagles to come up short yet again incorrect
Superbowl: Baltimore Ravens vs New Orleans Saints incorrect
Superbowl Winner: Baltimore Ravens  incorrect

"Surprise" Team: Detroit Lions, gonna get a wildcard slot. Though I don't think the Lions are a surprise team anymore yes for the parts of the season but they have losing streaks too, they did well overall
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Chicago Bears, will miss the playoffs despite last years deep playoff run looked good at times but missed playoffs
Worst Team: Cincinnati Bengals and they need to start Bruce Gradowski sooner rather then later. So many problems and a lot of them due to their owner boy was I wrong here

Off MVP: Drew Brees, I'm need to think about this one and may edit before the deadline correct
Def MVP: Tamba Hali, beast of a player incorrect
Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones nope
Def Rookie MVP: Patrick Peterson, top player and with DRC gone will be thrust into a lot of responsibility incorrect
"Surprise" Player: James Laurenitis, second round pick for Rams. Top MLB and heading for the probowl and team captaincy. I still rate him, just the team did badly
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Mark Sanchez yes, definitely

Audacious Prediction of the Season: The return of the run game. Three or more players will top 1500 yds, not happened for last three seasons. Ok, not audacious but it's my predication pass game exploded first two months of the season. In the end only MJD for the Jags topped my target

    Your Own Team Baltimore Ravens
Regular season record: 13-3 twelve and four
Best rookie: Jimmy Smith CB Pernell McPhee or Torrey Smith did better
Most looking forward to seeing: New DC this year, secondary coach Chuck Pagano was promoted. A return to "organized chaos" and brutal, aggressive defense, it's what's Baltimore is known for
At least used to be known for :o yes, correct, raging he got poached

    did ok overall

Superbowl: New England Patriots vs Philadelphia Eagles
Superbowl Winner: New England Patriots (By 2 points, as Andy Reid leaves the clock expire after an 8 minute, 16 play, 40 yards drive :D) - had 50% of the teams :-)

"Surprise" Team: Houston Texans - I'll claim this
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Pittsburgh Steelers - knew I should have picked the Jets!
Worst Team: Cincinnati Bengals - totally wrong

Off MVP: Aaron Rodgers - correct
Def MVP: Nmandi Asamougha - incorrect
Off Rookie MVP: Julio Jones - incorrect
Def Rookie MVP: Nick Fairley - incorrect
"Surprise" Player: Ryan Williams - injured in pre-season :-(
Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Mark Sanchez - definitely!

Audacious Prediction of the Season: Brett Favre will NOT un-retire - correct

    Your Own Team: Dolphins
Regular season record: 6-10 (at best - we could stink) - I'm good :-)
Best rookie: Daniel Thomas - never really got going
Most looking forward to seeing: The back of Sparano and Henne and the locating of an offense! It says a lot when I'm hoping we trade for Kyle Orton! - Sparano gone, Henne going, Offensive coach installed

Not too bad I suppose, disappointed to only get 3/8 of division winners though.

Underachieving/Over-Hyped Team: Green Bay Packers (its not that I think they will flop its just that the sense of expectation on Green Bay makes it seem that anything less than another title would be deemed a failure)I think Im justified in saying this is correct

Worst Team: Cincinnati Bengals (terrible team and a rookie QB makes for a disastrous season)dead wrong. I knew Dalton was a good QB in college but I seriously thought that he would struggle playing for the Bengals. Instead they were the surprise of the season and went to the playoffs and have the look of a franchise with a much brighter future

The MVP race will be close but the Falcons winning 14 games should put him close to contention for it ahead of Rodgers and Brady)wrong. Ryan put up solid numbers but in fairness for much of the year I think he regressed and didnt have the look of a star QB. Next year is crucial for him and the Falcons

Def MVP: DeMarcus Ware (With Rob Ryan calling the shots Ware will be in "hunt them down" mode all season and could have 20 sacks)I was wrong because Suggs won the DPOY but Ware did get 19.5 sacks so at least I had knew what to expect from him!

Off Rookie MVP: Im going with Bama here, Mark Engram or Julio Joneswrong, I didnt think Newton on the Panthers team would be that good. I expected him to be a great goal line threat and a solid passer but I did not expect him to put up record rookie numbers

Def Rookie MVP: Von Miller (He looks ready to be a pass rushing threat from Sunday)Correct, Miller looked fantastic from his first game to when he got injured

"Surprise" Player: LeSean McCoy (he will come through as an elite level back this year)I think 1600 yards and 22 TDs signify elite. Correct

"Surprise" Rookie: Jake Locker (when CJ gets going Locker will be in the lineup and the team will perform)wrong, but when he did get on the field Locker looked pretty tidy. I clearly didnt account for Matt Hasselbeck playing well for much of the year though

Underachieving/Over-Hyped Player: Dont know who to put here but the one thing I will guarentee is that Reggie Bush will not live up to the hype of being an every down back!Wrong. I didnt see Bush having a 1000 yard rushing season and being a feature for the Dolphins

Audacious Prediction of the Season: Nnamdi Asomugha is going to be caught out this year! Teams arent going to shy away from throwing to him like they did in Oakland and even though he is superb he will get beaten from time to time and people will look at the contract given to him and think the Eagles overpaidIt pains me to say it but for much of the season this was correct but in part it was because Nnamdi played as a slot back, cornerback and a safety

    Your Own Team - Eagles
    Regular season record: 12-4Way off!
Best rookie: Casey Matthews (He'll start from day one and while he wont be as effective as Clay he will be a solid performer in a line backer corp that will be encouraged to blitz. The strong defensive backfield makes the Eagles a great landing spot for CaseySomewhat correct. Ive been impressed by Matthews when he's been on the field. He had 40 tackles as a rookie and showed good potential as a future starter for us

Most looking forward to seeing: Absolutely everything! The offensive will be as explosive as ever and the defensive should be one that will bring back memories of Jim Johnston's. The O-line is the clear weakness but I'm confident we can overcome thatFor much of the season I wished the power would cut off so I wouldnt have to watch it! The O-Line was a nightmare all season and put Vick under immense pressure, DeSean Jackson didnt look bothered to play at any point. THe defence was a shambles for much of the year thowing away comfortable leads. But by the end of the year we looked a lot better
Like my Eagles these predictions were close to being pretty good but ultimately flattered to deceive!
