Can you get away with putting a small amount of petrol in and then filling with diesel or should any amount of petrol require full draining.

    Just interested!

depends how much petrol if the car was empty and you put a fiver in then i would chance filling up with diesel but anymore than that i would drain the tank

Yes you can but it depends on how little, I wouldnt chance more than 3 litres in 50. You might get away with more I'm not sure and would drain the tank rather than take the risk.

I have this image of a Focus stranded at a petrol station with a guy frantically getting onto boards on his phone;):p

With a modern diesel I personally wouldn't risk it. Old tech stuff I wouldn't worry too much as long as it wasn't a huge amount.

It's not for me (promise) but turns out it was a full tank anyway so no option but Fuel saver to the rescue. Expensive mistake.

IT WOULD COMPLEATLY RUIN THE CAR'S ENGINE!
