Hi guys,I'm going to be booking aer lingus flights to Nice,France. I think I'm going to reserve the seats because I want a window seat but girlfriend has such long legs she needs an aisle seat. Anyway so I want the seat with best view. You know the way you get the window to far forward or else too far behind. I'm thinking of going for seat 22A? What ya reckon?

Don't know if this will help but this is what it looks like from 17A on an Aer Lingus A320. Took this a few weeks ago landing in Heathrow.

Yes they do. You can pay €10 to reserve a seat. One with extra leg room cost more I think it may be €15. but as siad above if you go early you will pay nothing.

Go to www.seatguru.com (or something!) and find out which is the best seat for the A.320.
Check in online the day before you fly and you'll be able to select a good seat for free (not the "premium" seats but good ones
    nonetheless).

Also, seats ahead of the wing/engines tend to be a little bit quieter than those behind.

If you're flying into Nice, sit on the left hand side to get a view of the coastline on final approach (assuming an easterly approach which it is most of the time).
As the last poster mentions save your money and choose your seats the day before flying.

Is it not the other way around??

You have the jetblast behind the wing so definitely not. Sitting at the back of a 757 is an interesting experience noise wise!

Seconded. Try for seat 7-9 A & C. (Got great pics from 8A about 3 weeks ago) You get the window, she gets the aisle and perhaps the centre seat will not be taken by another pax.

Lets hope you don't get an overweight chatty hypochondriac in the middle seat. ;)

Regular visitor to Nice and in the 6 years I've been going there the flight has always approached from the West, and only twice has it departed on a westward routing.

Sitting on the left heading to Nice you get great views of the Alps and when you hit the coast you'll see Cannes, Antibes and several other smaller towns with amazing houses.

Assuming your flight home heads east, you'll get great views of Villefranche, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Eze, Monaco and probably Menton too before the flight turns north and then you'll get another view of the Alps and hopefully a good look at Mont Blanc.

IF, for some reason the flight approaches Nice from the east, it looks like a great approach. Due to noise restrictions inland, the aircraft follow the curve of the bay (it's a fairly steep turn) and only level off with about 1km to go. It's one of my favourite things about spending a day on the beach there. Well, that and the steak tartar at Castel Plage!

I always try sit at the back of the aircraft when flying as a pax.

Haven't heard of a plane going backwards in to a mountain yet !

True, I know one or two pilots who don't drink at least an hour before flying. ;)

I'm sure though that's the case with every pilot ? Sort of like not drinking and driving.

    Assuming your talking about alcohol
