Humax HDR Fox-T2 HD PVR Freezing

Hi guys I loaded a large number of films/tv shows I had stored on my computer onto an external HD, plugged the HD into one of the Humax's HDR Fox-T2 PVR (Freeview/Saorview) USB ports and sat down to watch one of my favourite sit-coms.

At first everything seemed to be working fine and then the picture froze.

To stop the freeze I powered of the whole system: tv, pvr, and re-booted. Just to insure it wasn’t a faulty recording I played a different recording but again it froze in about fifteen minutes. And just before posting I ran another film through the machine and sure enough after about ten minutes into the film it froze.

The sitcoms were downloaded from my tv, and the film was one I bought a number of years back.

Any idea as to what is going on here, and I suppose more important how to stop it.

I've watched a number of recordings from the Humax's own HD and everything works fine there.

As always many thanks for your help and advice.

    Kevin

(ps for you guys down South thinkiing of buying a Saorview box I can confirm that the above machine handles the Republics station beautifully. From my perspective though it dumps them all in the 800 category.)
