So about 2 weeks ago I got my cracked screen on my laptop replaced.

After I got it back(not sure if it was on the first day or a few days after) I started seeing these like, colored lines going across the screen after I boot it. The disappear when I open a program or move the cursor over them. So no big deal I thought.

2 weeks later the lines have stopped appearing but yesterday I got a blue screen 3 times and today the laptop froze completely without a blue screen.

I'm guessing it have something to do with the repairs. What do you think?

    Thanks.

how did the screen get cracked, ?
if it was dropped or subject to physical abuse then the mother board may be damaged too,

    could be coincidence too

lines on the screen could be a repair problem too

    moving to laptops

No there was no chance of internal damage. It was a very small crack but ruined the whole screen.

Now theres another problem. I'm currently running just this browsers and msn. Yet my resources monitor says I'm using up 3GB of ram? How can that be?

Yeah I'm fairly certain now that's whatever is using what my ram is crashing my Laptop and causing Blue screen.

Its currently using up 80% of 4GB on windows 7 64 bit with only the browser running.

A few times it goes up to 99% and freezes for a while then starts working again. I think the only reason it hasn't blue screened again is because I have a flash drive plugged in which is providing an extra 3.5Gb of ram.

I check resources monitor and theres nothing big there thats using up the RAM. So I dont know whats going on.

First things first, boot into safe mode with networking and compare the results.

I seem to have found the problem. It was windows media player service using up 2.5GB of my RAM. Two strange things though.

1.It never showed up in resources monitor before today.
2.It only started happening when I downloaded and used Zune.

So I ended the process and hopefully it wont happen again when I boot up next time.
