Since yesterday I've noticed that none of the outbound 46As are listed on the RTPI system. For example at the moment, the Foxrock Church, Montrose Hotel and Burlington Hotel stops are showing no Dun Laoghaire-bound 46As, anyone know what's happening? The buses are running ok because I got one to DL and back last night.

Did you ask the NTA via www.transportforireland.ie?

hardly any buses on the N11 corridor are showing on RTPI and they never have - possibly a delay in rolling it out to Donnybrook Garage?

I noticed that about a week back on North Circular Road, very obvious there as it's the only bus! It was working for a good while before that.

It is not fully rolled out yet, some buses still do not have it installed. There are still new units been installed on the N11 corridor, spotted some been worked on today. I think Sierra have the contract.

The inbound and outbound 46As have been on the system for ages. There is an Android app I have installed on my phone which screen scrapes the data output from the text only version of the RTPI website and I noticed starting a couple of days ago that the 46As heading to Dun Laoghaire (i.e. outbound) are all missing. You'll see what the RTPI text output looks like if you click on any of the links below.

Below I've posted three pairs of bus stops, the stops within each pair are across the road (more or less) from each other and the 46A serves all of the six bus stops. Take a look at all the inbound 46As and then note the absence of any 46As from the outbound stops....

Foxrock Church (served by outbound 46A, 75 and 145)

The bus stop directly across the road, by the pedestrian ramp leading to the Loreto School (served by inbound 46A, 75 and 145)

Outside the Burlington Hotel. Outbound buses.

Across the road, near the junction of Appian Way. Inbound buses.

N11 inbound, Stillorgan Cross, very close to Stillorgan Library

N11 outbound, Stillorgan Cross near junction of Stillorgan Park

The feedback form is not very encouraging, they won't respond to individual submissions which in public sector terms means nobody will read them.

At the very least I'd make a submission and tell them about it.

They seem to have noticed this themselves - yesterday some displays had "Real-time information for route 46A will return next week" scrolling along the bottom.

Back this morning, at least on Leeson St, note still scrolling along bottom though. Also noticed passing through Rathmines that screen was scrolling info about ND changes, hope this sort of usage becomes commonplace.

Thanks, I just checked the three outbound stops in my post above and the 46A has reappeared.

Now if only they could improve that terrible DB iPhone app that they've just released, the comments on the iTunes store speak for themselves,

Considering the state of their printed and online information, a poor app several years late is par for the course. Hopefully in the short-term we'll see the NTA take over this kind of stuff instead of having each company do it all separately.

Markpb:Hopefully in the short-term we'll see the NTA take over this kind of stuff instead of having each company do it all separately.

This issue rather cuts to the chase of so many of the "Policies" surrounding the introduction of the DTA and now the NTA itslef.

The Integrated Ticketing fiasco is perhaps the most blatant example of a somewhat forlorn attempt by people without any knowledge or appreciation for their area of interest to hammer things together.

The entire notion of an "Authority" in most peoples minds is to take charge and administer things.

Unfortunately in our world it tends to entail a startup process and a lead in period after which the new "Authority" attempts to convert various base metals into pure gold.

The NTA needed to take all of this stuff in hand from Day 1 and impose it's will upon ALL of the participating agencies, rather than pussyfooting around and becoming enmeshed in in-fighting.

One only has to look at Taxi "Regulation" as an example of just how wrong the entire thing can go......

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.
