return to education

    Hi,

    Quick question. Have been put on a 2 day week since Feb and applied for JSA in March. Am still waiting on payment (nearly 5 months now), despite having gone through all the formalities of interviews, means test etc. I have decided to return to education in the North and the course starts mid Sept. I am just wondering what the story is with backdating of dole in this situ...I will obviously be signing off to return to college but I am wondering will I still get the 5 months worth of JSA payment if payment hasn't come through by then?

    I am asking as I am in pretty dire financial straits by this stage, having been living off loans and overdrafts this past few months. :(

    Any info appreciated.

    It should be backdated. Fair play to you for going back to school! Good Luck!

    You should get your full payment from SW but 5 months seems to be an awful long time to wait for a claim, I think you should give them a buz and see what the hold up is, by the way best of luck with college :)
