Commute to work- Harold's Cross to Navan

    Hi,

Just wondering what would the traffic be like in the morning going from Harold's Cross to the Navan Road via Christchurch and then across the Liffey and up Phibsborough Road. Would I be going against traffic in the morning at about 8?
And then coming in to the city from Navan after work in the evening at around 6?

Any other suggestions for places to live in order to commute easily to Navan on a daily basis. I'd prefer not to live on the North side.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You could obviously live in Navan.

Living close to you by I'd suggest perhaps heading onto the quay and up Stoneybatter and Prussia Street and onto the Navan Road that way; Phibsboro and Church Street are not great at the best of times, rush hour they can be ugly. In the evenings, I'd come in on the same route and head onto Bridgefoot Street, Marrowbone Lane, Donore Avenue, Cloghr Road and Sundrive which is actually a fairly handy run up.

The canal is to be avoided at rush hour at all cost.

Thanks a million. I'll try that. Going to test it out tomorrow morning and see how i get on.

As regards living in Navan.. I'm 25 and have been living in Navan for the past year- it's time to get out of here- i need a life!!

What's wrong with the North side? There are plenty of nice places where you could live that would mean not having to try and cross the city every day.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the north side. I've been looking at Phibsborough too. It's just i have family living in Rathfarnham and would like to be close enough to them. The north side would be a whole lot more convenient for the commute to work i know.
