Would you marry a rockstar/get married if you were a rockstar?

I read recently that the wife of Roger Daltrey allowed him to sleep with other women with abandon in the earely part of their marriage because she accepted it was part of the lifestyle and I guess it gave her some measure of control over the situation.

It got me pondering. Women, would you marry a rockstar? (if they'd have you. ) And menfolk, you even bother getting married if you were a rockstar? With ready supply of women available to you? Or would you like the security of a wifelette at home? And try to get the same kind of deal as Daltrey? :pac:

Personally, I wouldn't marry one, I think I'd set him free. :pac: In my view, rockstars are supposed to shag as many womenfolk as is humanly possible and I don't reckon I'd want to get in the way of that!

What has being a Rockstar got to do with anything? If the person you're with is likely to be cheating on you if he was a Rockstar, what does it matter what job he has? He'd be likely to cheat if he was a plumber!

They can indeed, but according to female rock star Neko Case, apparently don't attract groupies in the same way.

Well, I agree, some people are more inclined to cheat, but if you're famous and inclined to cheat, it's gonna be a HELL of a lot easier to do so than if you're an average joe. Plus, the thread was prompted by something I read about a famous musician.

I think it's the same kind of thing that makes male comedians attractive to women while the reverse often isn't true. Women are drawn to creative men, men NEED to be creative to stand out from the crowd. Women rely on their looks more.

It's true we've had a poor showing in the comedy stakes historically, but the whole set Fey comes from is hopefully a spearhead of some improvement in that regard.

Slightly f*cked up thing I've noticed is that some rock-loving ladies find a capacity for rockstar monogamy in itself attractive.

So, in one case where the lead singers are quite happily married to each other, I've often observed fangirl types say, basically, "Wow, that guy is clearly devoted to his wife. That's so sexy I wish he'd totally cheat on her with me!"

Also, the actual groupie thing is VERY creepy. Being in a band myself I definitely notice it. There are certain girls who just LOVE to get close to bands. You can tell them a mile off!

Plus I have a clear memory of the drummer from L7 shouting that a member of the crowd was going to sleep with her tonight and a load of guys came forward? I think Dave Grohl was involved in that night some where along the way to.

I can't find the exact quote or can't remember who said it but it goes something along the lines of "you know you're famous when you're sitting beside the woman of your dreams and you can't remember her name."
