Watching this on tv3 - I see they are for sale in Ireland - is this not illegal? Take the baby away from their mother days after birth - is this world gone mad?

No it is not illegal, but it does not make it right. Most humans cannot provide the space or the socialisation that these animals need.

its sad, to think they are taken so young :( The poor monkey mother and baby, I see on this show people take good care of them but doing research I see some are treated awful! Teeth pulled so they can't bite - fingers taken off too - its madness!

I remember watching this when it was first on National Geographic. Absolutely shocking. Specially the woman who was feeding the monkey with sugary foods etc, she was basically killing the monkey by treating it like a child. Those people need some serious therapy.

I couldn't watch it, it's been on lots before. I'd end up shouting at the tele like a mad yolk.

But parents are not supposed to feed their human child that much junk food either. She fed that monkey in one meal what my toddler would receive in a week in junk foods! And I feel guilty about what I give him.

Those people are not well, seriously. Animals are not people, and you cannot treat them as people. You can be a fantastic animal owner and treat them as animals, you don't have to dress them up to love them!

Also cosmetics should not be applied to their skin!!!

Try telling the cosmetic companies that!!!

I couldn't watch it, saw clips and knew it would make me feel sick and angry, wild animals belong in the wild, they're not there for our entertainment.
