Hey just picked up some Michelin pro race 3 on impulse. Real impressed with how much grip they have! But on further investigation I have seen some people warn that they will not last long. Does anyone know how I should expect these to hold up with day to day use?

I bought the Pro 3 Grip during the cyclesuperstore wednesday deal a few weeks back. Haven't tried them out yet though. In general, race tyres are meant to be very grippy and as a sacrifice have a relatively short lifespan. You could take them off to spare them for certain occasions i.e. race day.

From my own experience they ll last about 1500-2500km depending on roads, conditions, luck etc.

That can be only 5-8 weeks if your doing high enough mileage.

Personally id by a training tyre also and keep them for racing or at the very least for the very best summer months if your training every day.

I must admit i often train on mine as i enjoy nice rolling tyres and it make training more pleasureable

Cool, thatnks for the info. What kind of training tyre would you recommend. I would like something that's good for 4,000km if that's possible.

Pro 3s are good for about 3k. They develop nicks quickly but that doesn't matter, just watch for large gashes.

I've 5-6k on a Continental GP4000 (not S) and it's just at the end of it's life now. No punctures!

Great I have heard great things about the GP4000. I will just see how long the pro 3's last and then get some GP4000's. Thanks so much for the advice :)
